Hi there, people. If you know of a pro-life event happening for the 33rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade this year, list it here. Especially the lesser known ones. Most of us know about the March for Life in Washington. There is a corresponding march in San Francisco, CA, but not everyone is ready to travel that far.

There are plenty of masses and such leading up to the day in my area, but I want to find out where I can go to hold up a sign, too.

List anything, anywhere! Barbeques, bake sales, prayer vigils, masses, marches, etc.! It doesn’t even have to be where you yourself live.

Here’s an email I recieved from the Walk for Life West Coast (San Francisco)

EWTN’s program Life on the Rock will be broadcasting the entire rally live from San Francisco! It will air on EWTN from 10:30 AM-12:00 p.m. (PST). Get ready for the cameras and be sure to smile!
We have another great line up of dynamic, inspiring speakers! Click here for more details.
Live Mariachi Band will be playing at Marina Green for the conclusion of the Walk so pack a picnic lunch and relax a while!
Vendors will also be present at Marina Green to purchase snacks & beverages.
PEACEFUL PROTEST

The Walk for Life West Coast is a peaceful event. In past years, counter protesters were present (though the 2006 opposition was much smaller than in 2005). Please come prepared to be 100% peaceful. This is our greatest contribution to the pro-life movement. We understand for some it may be a challenge to not engage in dialogue when confronted, so if you are unable to commit yourself to peaceful participation, please consider joining the thousands around the world who will be with us in prayer.

GETTING THERE

Click here for directions, parking and public transportation. There will be shuttles at the end of the Walk at the Marina Green to transport walkers back to Justin Herman Plaza. This is a service we are providing free of charge so please be patient if you have to wait to catch a bus. There are also taxicabs and public transportation available from Marina Green.

CHARTERED BUSES

To see if a motor coach is coming from your area, click here; or to register your group’s bus, click here. Please be advised that ALL buses must be registered for parking at the event.

SIGNS & BANNERS

We encourage you to make your own positive signs promoting the pro-life message with signs or banner identifying your school, church or group. We will also provide Women Deserve Better than Abortion signs at the start of the Walk. In the interests of reaching out to women hurting from abortion, we respectfully request you refrain from bringing graphic signs and images of aborted fetuses.

SECURITY

Although we expect counter demonstrators, San Francisco’s finest will be out in force (300 police officers on foot, motorcycle, horseback, SUVs and even a helicopter!) as well as hundreds of volunteer security. Walk for Life is a family event. You and your children are safe and will feel safe too!

PRAYER SERVICES / ADORATION / MASS

Since ultimately victory of the Culture of Life over the Culture of Death will come from the Lord, we turn to him in prayer. We beg him to bless our event, to keep us safe from harm, to protect the unborn, convert the hearts of those who oppose life and to heal those harmed by abortion.

Friday, January 19th: Inter-denominational prayer service at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Key note speaker – Fr. Frank Pavone.
Friday, Jan. 19th at 8pm to Saturday, Jan. 20th at 7am All Night Adoration at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in North Beach. For more information email info@walkforlifewc.com.
Saturday January 20th at 8am: Mass before the Walk at St. Mary’s Cathedral. ( 1111 Gough Street at Geary, San Francisco). Archbishop Neiderauer will be celebrating with many Bay Area bishops and priests concelebrating.
For more information about these events or directions on how to have additional events posted, go here.

Hope to see some of you there!!

There’s going to be a short march from the Cathedral to the Water Tower in Chicago, with a prayer vigil, following the 12:30 Mass next Sunday (the 21st).

I am planning to be there. We might, if it is not too cold, show up early and hand out some literature.

Nothing here in Australia (funnily enough - Roe v Wade being an American court decision and all) - but I’m praying a lot of Rosaries for the success of all the events being held in the US. :gopray2:

I’ll be at the March for Life in DC. I usually go with a group of nuns that I’m friends with. My priest, Fr. Bill Byrne, will be saying the homily at the youth mass in the Verizon Center!

I will be at the March also. I plan on going to one of Fr. Pavone’s masses.
