Agreed. Perhaps once we get past the US elections in November the policy will change.
Not likely. The rule change was a result of a law passed by Congress last year. Essentially, non-profit agencies cannot voice political sentiments and retain their tax-exempt status. This includes organizations like CAF as well as what a priest or minister can say in a homily. As a consequence, CAF cannot allow the discussion of political candidates or parties.

The purpose of the vote was to prevent religious groups from helping people form a proper conscience with regard to voting.

The party that sponsored it was tired of groups banding together to fight same-sex marriage. The vote on this law went right down party lines.

Vis-a-vi abortion someone ought to reconsider or find a place for it. It is necessary to discuss politics frankly in order to address what has produced the holocaust. There are very few places where our voices can be heard on the matter, and if not in a Catholic forum then where?
So our pulpits are not allowed to guide us on how to vote to preserve the right to life and stop the horrible murder of innocents daily. Now it seems even our public forums are not places where we can teach and guide others about protecting human life. Is this China or America we live in?

Excellent question. Unfortunately, I do not have a good answer. I will only say that freedom of speech seems to be limited only to those who are opposed to the many of the basic moral tenets taught by the Church.

This article can be countered by donating to get full page ads in major newspapers stating the duty of Catholics to vote according to Church teaching.

I personally will be checking with my pastor to see if I can hand out these voters guides.

Other options are to print out guides from the priest for life site-

Apologies. I did not realize CAF had tax exempt status which explains the prohibition perfectly. Then we can all commiserate together.
