Where can I find a mathematical paper that computes the odds of a Jesus fulfilling the messianic prophecies? Preferably one in an academic journal to move skeptics?

Nowhere. What would that even mean? How could you apply probability to such a thing–i.e. a faith claim fulfilled by God? Would not a man of faith say that there is a 100% probability of Jesus fulfilling these prophecies? What would it prove if you could somehow apply probability to that? Remember the saying: “To those who have faith, no explanation is necessary. To those who do not have faith, no explanation is possible.”

I think that the probability of impressing sceptics by such an exercise would approach zero.

Check out some of the ‘Why don’t Jews believe in Jesus?’ threads here and you’ll see how we handle the issue.

At this point in time, the odds are definitely near zero. That’s because the Messianic linage among the Jewish tribes is completely lost since the destruction of the Temple in 70AD. Whatever records the Gospel writers had access to when they showed the lineage of Jesus is completely lost.

It would be like asking what are the odds of you being George Washington’s descendant when Washington never had any children.
