Don’t worry about it too much. I had a similar experience with very stern looking ladies before…it’s in my other thread about not being let back into the pew after communion. I couldn’t bring myself to speak up, either. Next time maybe you can speak up and ask for them to let you slide in.

I’ve seen the reserved parking spots. Sometimes they are fundraisers, other times it is a family with some special needs.
Have never seen a reserved pew for anyone other disabled people or lectors/ ushers/ other participants in the service.

it’s shameful how many people there are who won’t give up their seat to the elderly or handicapped. I don’t like to usually question ones home training, but yeah, I question their home training.

I’ve seen the reserved parking spots as a (Catholic) school fundraiser, but not at the church.

Thank you very much, ShowersofRoses. I hope to do that next time. I actually forgot my glasses and had to go back up in the lift to get them. That is why I was a bit late.

It’s fascinating to me that my elderly friends are constantly criticising the younger generations for rudeness, inconsideration and selfishness; yet, in my real-world experience it is the young people who are modest, gracious and generous, while the elderly far more often display an attitude of self-righteous entitlement and self-absorption. For the record, I turned fifty-five last month.

I did that once. It looks as though it won’t be the last time!

Unfortunately, it is not crowded. It was probably quite noticeable until the nice man at the back said to sit beside him!

I am not elderly or handicapped although I am slightly older than you. Maybe, this lady was praying or meditating. I will try to be early in future! I haven’t noticed this sort of thing before at this church. However, I agree. The younger ones seem much nicer and friendlier!

I get there early, pick my seat, and resume my Rosary.

It’s a good time to read the Magnificat … the monthly “magazine” … prayer guide.
