Not to mention the total laziness or apathy God has had to us since 33 AD. How was it that Man could expect destruction that ranged from a single death up to total annihilation of our species before Christ and now suddenly God won’t even do anything for up 2000 years!..

…In all honestly I think I’d rather have the OT God than this new uncaring NT God; at least he comforted His faithful by showing His Divine Justice against those that broke his covenant. The God of the NT is solely responsible for all the agnostic and atheists in the world; I’m sure there would be less of that if New York was reduced to cinder for our deserved judgement!
So God is lazy, apathetic and uncaring because he does not live up to your expectations? I thought we were supposed to live up to his.

Anyway, how about giving me one concrete example of something that you feel God should have done, but failed to do it.
As for miracles they don’t count as any other pagan religion can create miracles that leave one just as easily baffled.
Maybe, maybe not. Let’s put this to the test. Give me one example of a reported pagan miracle which measures up to the Miracle of Fatima (in terms of witnesses, documentation, prophecy, etc.).

I give up, I didn’t come here prepared with facts and figures to prove why I am right-just an emotionally based attack. So yeah I’m a lazy, discourteous loser, but I don’t care anymore…

Enjoy Heaven, it’ll be all the more sweeter because I won’t be there.

Of course this isn’t the place for another pity party so feel free to consider this closed and yourselves winners. At the very least you know now not to have threads with my idiotic self.

Well, the emotional or practical problem of evil is a serious one, but the answer is rather different. If it concerns you look into: Evil and the Justice of God.

Or to put it another way: there are two options regarding those suffering in this world
1). Either God does not exist and there is no hope at all for them and nothing to make the evils of this world right in the end or provide justice for them.
or
2). God does exist and there is a heaven and a just God who himself suffered and died (and in the end asked why God himself had abandoned him) and will in the end right all the evils of this world after all.

Which of those seems preferable to you?

If I personally witnessed a rape occurring and simply looked away and did nothing to stop it; people would look to me with disgust for being so apathetic.

However God, who has no threat to His existence (unlike myself), who is all powerful and capable of anything (unlike myself), and who had full knowledge of what is occurring is treated as a benevolent deity when he allows people to commit rape and murder and all other atrocities!

This will only pose problems to Biblical literalists and people who believe God intervenes in their lives.

If you believe that God is largely non-interventionist and prefers giving freedom for agents and processes to act rather than constantly meddling then this is simply what we’d expect to see.
