I hope and pray things turn around soon. I think though itll be a little like closing the barn door after the horses are out. We were warned about secularism however, sadly it seems some hierarchy and orders have seemed to embrace it as part of change. Whatever happened to the Encyclical "Pascendi Domeninci Gregis" by St. Pius X in which he defined progressivism as modernism and in 1907 declared it a heresy and also pointed out that it was taking hold of the contemporary mind and possession of Western civilization? I believe Pope Benedict XVI may have tried to reign some of the secularism in with certain Encyclicals which I havent yet read that requested orders to return to their roots. I could be
wrong however I believe some of the Ecumenicalism and reaching out to other religions
may have been an attempt at reunification as I do see a trend of large groups of Anglican
Catholics coming into the Roman Church. Recently there was an article at Belmont College
on the Oblate site about a mass unification from across the country and this has already
happened in large numbers in England. So if this is the case and we have to adjust our
practices and ceremonies to accomodate, all this may very well be the movement of the
Holy Spirit, as the Holy Spirit moves where the Holy Spirit wills to accomplish a plan of God
that we have yet to perceive. Blessings and Peace.
There are appearances and there are realities. Here is a commentary about an unwanted change in the Mass:

The Church has lived through and survived many difficulties. We have the guarantee of Jesus Christ that the gates of hell will not prevail.

There is no doubt in my mind the Church will survive. When you consider all that has taken
place in the history of the Church, it is amazing that there still is a Church. There was a time for instance when we had a battle of the Popes as there was more than one as St. Catherine
of Sienna will testify. With regard to the article concerning studies in philosophy, good luck
with that. Read Catholic Insider .com “Pope Benedict XVI on Socialism”. The so called
Catholic Colleges and Universities, in this country at least, are so far left, liberal and socialistic
theyve marched off the shore of California. There is a female theologian who wrote a book at Fordham, a Jesuit College in N.Y. that has been banned by the USCCB. She by the way happens to be a nun. If only we could entice more of these socialists to read the Encyclical by Pope BenedictXVI "Spe Salvi" (In hope we are saved), it might make a difference. As for me; being a cradle Catholic and being old as well as a former alter boy and seminarian the changes were difficult for me especialy the loss of the Latin Mass and the Priest facing the people. I can tell that I have traveled a great deal and have been in churchs all over the country, and I can tell you there have been some that you couldnt tell were Catholic. I would
never have known except the listing in the phone book. Sadly I have been in some where I couldnt even find where the tabernacle was located. One church in Omaha didnt even have a Crucifix. My faith is strong because I know in the end the Church will survive, Our Lord said so.
