Before I went to Mass the first time (because I knew it had changed in the years since I’d been with my dad), I watched Masses from the Basilica in Washington on YouTube, watched an RCIA video on the Mass, and I listened to Mass on the Catholic Channel on my commute.

All of it was very helpful. Then I read a couple of books on it so I truly understood what was happening.

There is no such thing as a teaching mass.

There are no rubrics designated as a teaching mass, no liturgy established for a teaching mass.

Calling something a “teaching mass” doesn’t make it a legitimate liturgy in the Church.

Unlike a Confirmation Mass or a Nuptial Mass or a ritual or votive mass, which are an actual thing.
