I don’t think this MSN story represents a true full scope picture.
OK sure the Canadian Dollar is marginally stronger now than the American dollar.
No big deal its only short lived.
Does it really benefit the average Canadian taxpayer? Not a chance.
Per-capita given the tax rate on comparable identical job in both countries a Canadian will pay a much higher federal/provincial year end tax in comparison to an American paying federal/state year end taxes doing the same job.
Ask any Canadian how he/she feels about being taxed to death by governments
As usually the above the top rich never pay a red damned cent.
Most commodities like automobiles and food prices in the U.S. is still cheaper although I fail to understand why most household electronic ticket items big and small are cheaper in Canada as are pharmaceuticals.
Unemployment is always on a roller coaster. The bank fall outs in the U.S. didn’t help making recovery slow. And now we have the third biggest economy in the world is reeling in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Japan.
This MSN article seems to paint Canada reeling in a cash-cow of financial glory.
I sure as hell don’t see it that way. But don’t just take my word…ask the 33 million Canadians paying taxes.
Peace
