Proestants don't believe in the Trinity? Really?

Hi

I think JWs and Christadelphians also don’t believe in trinity, so in this way, as I understand, it is not a pillar of Christian faith.

Christianity requires that a Christian accept Jesus as God. To that end, JWs are not Christians. They do not accept Jesus as God. The Trinity defines God as being Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Ghost (or Spirit), one God in three Devine Persons. Now, some Christians are called Jesus only, where they believe that Jesus is God and the other persons are aspects of Jesus. They are a very small minority of Christians.

Mormans do not accept the Trinity, either. You will see posters on this site, and others, that will tell you that JWs and Mormans are not Christians in the true sense.

Yes, in the end God will sort it all out. We will know what and who is correct.

The truth of the Trinity is taught in many other passages of the New Testament and does not depend on this particular verse. It is undoubtedly the most distinctive doctrine of the Christian faith. Most religions are either pantheistic (e.g., Buddhism) or polytheistic (e.g., Hinduism). Two other religions are monotheistic (Judaism, Islam), but only Christianity recognizes the one real God (the Triune God – Father, Son, Holy Spirit) – one God in three Persons.

Skeptics of the Word of God often like to point out that the word “Trinity” is not found in the Scriptures; however, the Word “Godhead” most certainly is. We find the “Godhead” mentioned in Acts 17:29, Romans 1:20, and Colossians 2:9. Colossians 2:9 states it all so well… “For in him [Christ] dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Literally, the Godhead came to this earth incarnate in the man Christ Jesus. Jesus was 100% man, and 100% God. Jesus did not give up His deity when He came to the earth. According to Hebrews 5:8, Jesus humbled Himself to the Father in Heaven, even being obedient unto death (the crucifixion).

We read in Genesis 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” “Us” and “Our” are plural in the Hebrew. Clearly, God has manifest (or revealed) Himself to mankind as a Godhead, i.e., one God (Deuteronomy 6:4), yet three distinct individual Persons. It may not make good math; but, it definitely makes good Bible. I didn’t author the Bible, God did. Either you believe that the Bible is God’s Word, or you don’t. We plainly read in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Here we see all three individual members of the Godhead. Again in Luke 3:22 we see all three individual members of the Godhead, “And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.”

When a JW asks "Who was Jesus praying to? To Himself? ", how would you respond?

Unitarians, Universalists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and Mormons do not believe in the Trinity. Non-Trinitarians are a tiny fragment of the population, and most Protestants would not even consider these groups Christian.

Don’t forget Oneness Pentecostals, Armstrongists. I would consider Mormons as Trihenotheists.

Ok, according to Wikipedia, they list the non-Trinitarians as follows:

Nontrinitarianism - 31.28 million

* Latter Day Saint movement (Mormonism) - 13.25 million

* Oneness Pentecostals - 0.31 million

They are NOT included under the definition of Protestantism.

In my reading I have learned that all of these non-Trinitarian groups would be classified as “Restorationalists” (not Protestant).
