*"When Chase Hilgenbrinck bounced from Chile to Colorado to New England this spring, his eyes were already on another path. Not toward another MLS club or Europe. Toward the priesthood.

MLS fans might have been startled to read the New England Revolution’s announcement this week that the defender was ending his career in midseason to enter a seminary at Mount St. Mary’s in Maryland, but the decision wasn’t abrupt…"*

Thanks, Dave; it’s great to see such happy news. And isn’t it a nice coincidence that he played for the “Revs”? 🙂

LOL - never thought about the ‘Revs’ angle. My guess is the Vatican is secretly recruiting for their national soccer team so they can qualify for the next World Cup 😃

Seriously though, it’s a time for celebration when anybody answers God’s call, but it’s also great from time to time when somebody in the public spotlight does so as a witness to the secular world.

For those discerning a call to the Holy Priesthood check out the blog link in the middle of the USA today article link from above. Chase describes his calling in more detail. It helps to see that many of those who are discerning a call go through many of the same questions and issues. PEACE

my prayers are with him

May the blessed Mother pray for us all
