Program works to make saints behind bars (CNA)

Wichita, Sep 7, 2008 / 03:58 am (CNA).- Most of society has forgotten about the criminals locked away for the rest of their lives. However, Jim Rundell knows God hasn’t forgotten about them. Rundell, who works with the diocesan St. Dismas Ministry to the Incarcerated, wants them to become saints.

God bless him for his efforts. We have a very active prison ministry in our diocese as well, called Kolbe House…and many of my fellow deacons volunteer or work with the inmates. This is a very stressful ministry that needs compassionate, courageous men and women…the good thing is that they are very receptive to any efforts from their chaplains. As the holidays approach, Kolbe house includes inmates families in their care and ministering. More reasons to pray!
