Prolife argument - nuetral sources needed

Im having an argument with someone who is prochoice, and I have given them many links though they are refusing because they feel the links Im going them are biased. Where can I find prolife info from an unbiased source?
 
What particular aspect of abortion are you discussing? What links have you given them? And on what facts do they base their assertion that the source is “biased?”

Make them tell you WHY they do not accept the sources-- make them do some work. If the are unwilling to tell you what specifically is biased in the information and how they reached the conclusion the information is biased, then you are dealing with people who are intellectually dishonest and not interested in any actual conversation. You will run around trying to get “acceptable” sources for them, and they will promptly find something wrong with those too.

It is not your responsibility to find ‘unbiased’ sources, it is their responsiblity to refute what you have asserted through doing the work themselves necessary to refute it if they can.

Links are pretty worthless in an argument unless they support something you are saying. Why use links? Study the links you want the other person to read and just make the case yourself. Why ask them to study what you won’t?

I disagree. It is the presenter’s responsbility to make a responsible case, and that involves far more than making assertions and demanding someone prove they are wrong. Such a discussion is not worth having, and usually inidcates a very weak position.

Ask him to point out specific examples of bias, and how that bias invalidates the conclusion.
 
I challenged him on why he found the sources biased…here was his reply…

“Paul, you are now officially a useless, disingenuous troll. Congratulations, I am done with you.”

I guess he wasn’t interested in honest discussions.

Here’s the problem with most arguments for and against abortion. There is no agreement on the meaning of the word “human.”

Here’s an exercise for people on either side. Make your argument without usng the word “human.” If you can’t, I doubt your argument has much value.

Too many arguments rest on the word, rather than an identifiable concept.

Note how the first para of “What Science Shows Us” in your second link uses the word.

*"Over the last two decades science has built up an overwhelming body of information that leads us to just one conclusion: The unborn child must be a **human *life. The child quickly develops all the organs and systems that a newborn has. It moves like a newborn. It has senses. It can learn. If it is not a human, what is it?"

People just pick whatever meaning of “human” they want and plug it in to bolster their case. Try writing that para without using the word human.

Alternativels, define “human” and substitute your definition everywhere the word appears.

The best unbiased source is probably the unborn children themselves - as seen in ultrasounds. Here is a site that looks good:

Here is another site that may be helpful. abortionfacts.com/
It is definitely pro-life but discusses both sides and is reasonable and non-emotional.
I’m sure there are other sites like this too.

Remind your friend that of course it is hard to find a site that is “neutral” about abortion. He/she needs to be unbiased while examining both sides.

Would “homo sapiens” make you happy? I thought “human” was just our everyday word for that.

“Human” is a scientific concept: e.g. “human blood cell”. Even if you think a embryo is just a blob of flesh, it is HUMAN. We also know an embryo is alive and genetically unique - no scientist would call it a “blob of flesh”. In abortion, it’s LIFE is TERMINATED. Human life that once was, is no more.

You can’t get rid of the word human. Of course it has emotional impact. We are humans and are fond of what is human.
