Still the real possibility that it wouldnt fit in a few years…

Exactly. I made the mistake of buying my teen son a good suit, $$$$ thinking he could wear it for many occasions. By the next summer he could not wear it.

I can see your logic in renting then. I hope you find something you like. If you do ask the girl, will you be co-ordinating the color of your tux with the color of her gown? Many seem to be doing that lately.

If I ask, that’ll be her decision, in addition to flowers/boutionerre/corsage- I’ll buy, but she will have decided the patterns, flowers, etc.

I never went to prom.

Because I was a nerdy kid who everyone picked on and no girl liked so I cried myself to sleep every night and never had any friends in school so I was miserable my entire school life.

I actually was homeschooled. I got all my prom-dancing out of my system during freshman year of college. It was wild dude. Trippy. So many late parties.

I actually went to a Catholic college freshman year. Lots of swing dance.

I went to a homeschooler prom/ diocesean mixer a few years ago…

Swing dancing is very, very fun haha
