Abbot Edmund Power of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Paul Outside the Walls in Rome has been named an honorary canon of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, one of the world’s most famous Anglican churches. The honor is a fruit of the recent Year of St. Paul, which began in June 2008 and concluded in June 2009.
Abbot Power told Vatican Radio that he hopes the honor will lead to personal contacts that further the cause of Christian unity and complement the thornier theological dialogue between the Church and the Anglican Communion.
