Promises for Caregivers

Anyone who needs care needs a caregiver. Caregiving can mean a short term assignment or a long term commitment. For many, caregiving has come unexpectedly and has changed their plans, challenged their schedules and altered their priorities.
Although different, the needs of a caregiver can be as great as the needs of the one in their care. To be a caregiver is a reminder that to do good is not always easy; to give sacrificially is not always recognized; and to be available is not always convenient.
Caregivers can grow weary, even in well doing. All caregivers need strength, patience, support, and encouragement. It is important for the caregiver to know that someone cares for them.
**Remember, God cares for the caregiver… **Everything written long ago was written to teach us so that we would have confidence through the endurance and encouragement which the Scriptures give us. Romans 15:4 GW
Here is a special selection of bible promises to help and encourage caregivers…
*But those who wait on the Lord
**Shall renew their strength;
**They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
**They shall run and not be weary,
**They shall walk and not faint.
*Isaiah 40:31 NKJV
*And as for you, brethren, do not become weary or lose heart in doing right [but continue in well doing without weakening]. *2 Thessalonians 3:13 AMP

God’s love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:5 GW

The Lord is my Strength and my [impenetrable] Shield; my heart trusts in, relies on, and confidently leans on Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song will I praise Him. Psalm 28:7 AMP

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:7 AMP

“Come to Me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Place My yoke over your shoulders, and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble. Then you will find rest for yourselves because My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 GW

He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Psalm 23:2,3 NLT

He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! 2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP

**Continuing Prayer for Caregivers **

Sweet Jesus, I uplift each person who unexpectedly finds himself taking care of one of your sick servants – the same person, Lord, who during his whole life took the saying “do good without looking at whom” to heart and did it (“Haz el bien sin mirar a quien”. Now You have sent him someone to take care of him. Please help this caregiver, your angel on earth, with all the changes in his priorities, plans, schedules, and life in order to care for your servant who is now in need. Please give him the grace of love and patience toward your sick servant and the discernment to follow advice, seek another, or somehow do the right thing because of Your guidance. It is not always easy, Lord, but with You, he can do it one minute at a time. Give him the grace and blessing of thankfulness so that he may always recognize all Your blessings – however, Lord, knowing Your blessings and constant care can be overwhelming . . . so I leave it to Your Loving Heart and Mercy. Thank You, Lord my God. Amen.

Dear Jesus and Holy Spirit, be close to those You have placed as Your sick servant’s caregivers. Christmas, New Year, and Epiphany are drawing near, Lord, and caregiving somehow is so much more difficult during this time. People think they are so strong! And they are, Lord, because of You, but they need the human touch, Lord. Please my Sweet Lord, grant the caregivers and Your sick servant someone to come by and share a smile, bring something both caregiver and his charge may eat – whether proper for diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney problem, any ailment at all or some proper garment for the sick person – easy to dress the person with, Lord. Please send Your Angels to help. Give the caregiver a few hours of respite when he may go to a movie or go on a picnic in a quiet area or even a day of recollection where he may recharge in every possible way. Holy Spirit be with them. Take care of them. Thank You, Jesus.
