Promoter Of Justice In A Diocese?

All, what are the functions of a promoter of justice for a diocese?? I have a priest friend who changed once he took on this diocesan role: He became kind of secretive in all he said all was careful as to what he would discuss. Whereas before we would joke and talk about certain things: he now suddendly hid behind the wall of secrecy. Now he does not even email me as if he is even afraid to email and maybe write something that could haunt him? Is it now because of that powerful position in the diocese that he is that way?? Or the fact that here all of the Bishop’s workers seem to fear his power??

I’d suspect it had to do with his being in the diocesan offices, not just with justice issues. I’m sure the diosesan spokesmen are all walking on eggshells these days, even in the most orthodox and scandal-free dioceses. If he’s your friend, be sure to keep up your prayers for him. Loving prayers are especially needed.
