I have new way of showing that the Catholic Church is THE church and the way to God. The enemies worshippers attest to it,
Do they mock and desecrate any prot. services, muslim or hindu ceremonies, or the jewish temple celebration? No. They mock and desecrate the eucharist, the mass, and the crucifix. Even the " artists " who desecrate religion target mary, the crucifix, and the catholic church. Who would attack us so vehemently, unless they were more afraid of us than anyone else. And truth and light are what scare them.What’s more, this shows that they don’t take other christians seriously, or non christians for that matter.
( except for Islam, which they consider a political and military threat, not a spiritual one )

In the Holy Land, Orthodox Jewish synagogues have been desecrated by antireligious people, in one case, with a pig’s head being tied to the doorknob of the front door. Things like that have happened there quite a bit, because nonreligious and antireligious people there do not like the fact that the religious Jews control the rabbinate and hence, many agencies there.

I also find it interesting then when Jews choose to rebel against Judaism and apostasize or intermarry, they usually rebel against the Orthodox form of the religion, and not the more liberal forms.

I think what people hate about Orthodox Judaism and Catholicism is the fact that both religions lay down very specific rules of proper conduct, and people don’t like to be told that they must behave a certain way. Its antinomianism at its worst.

For Jews it was abraham, for Catholics it is Jesus. I am not surpised that Orthodx Jews are attacked, they are God’s promised people. And Catholics are attacked, because the CC was founded by Jesus. the Muslim " promise comes from abraham, but goes through a slave and the son of a slave. Not from Abraham’s and Sarah’s first Born Isaac. And you wonder why O.J. and Catholics are the most hated in the world? Whether or not I need to get out more, this has always been the case, and will while the world exists. As always, feel free to mock me, because you disagree.

I’m not “mocking” you because I disagree with you, I’m just pointing out that its not only the RCC that gets treated like that.

The one thing Orthodox Judaism and the RCC have in common is that both have rules that they expect members to follow. Many peopple don’t like to be told that God said this or that, and we “must” follow these rules.

This, perhaps, is why the worst apostates are often the ones who leave Orthodox Judaism and Roman Catholicism.

I think I do, too. The late Cardinal O’Connor, in fact, once said to me that only the true religions produce true apostates. I know he had in mind both the RCC and Orthodox Judaism.

It is something that has always amazed me. I personally know two former baptist preachers who have become Catholic. Both of them have nothing but kind things to say about their former faith. One is even a priest now. I also know some former Catholics who are now ministers. I never hear anything good about the Church from them.

You look at history. Former Catholics are some of the worst people. Not all of them, mind you, but a few.

I guess when you are so close to the truth, you must have a violent reaction to it in order to escape cognitive dissonance.

Yes they may have a strict set of rules, but one believes in Jesus as the Messiah and the other does not! How can they both be true? Either one or the other isnt! I believe Jesus is the Messiah but I certainly dont think that the catholic Church is the one and only true church. If you want to get technical, Jesus started Christianity but Peter and the rest of the apostles started the catholic Church. Jesus is the ruler of all of Christianity, not just the catholic Church!

I did not say both were the true religions; Cardinal O’Connor said to me when he was alive, “Only true religions produce true apostates”. I think what the good Cardinal meant was that (according to his theology anyway), Orthodox Judaism was the true religion until the Catholic church developed, and now (he believed), that is the true religion.

I do not believe that both are true, I believe only Judaism is true. But this is because I am Jewish, and our religion is true for us.

It does prove that someone had a reason they did not like you. It could be punks who thought it would be cool. It could be people that fear God.

My purpose in this thread is to get people to think, and I did achieve that. BTW, I did not intend to say that no one else gets attacked ever. There is always more going on than I can say or even know. And it changes nothing, that your church was attacked. It still holds only partial truth. Nonetheless, twas a bad event, and I hope your people can recover quickly. God bless us all.

I am so terribly sorry anyone did that to your church, or anyone’s house of worship. Nothing is considered sacred these days, a local church to me (Baptist) was robbed and the criminals (probably drug addicts) stole the copper tubing in the pipes!!

Thank you for the kind thoughts towards my church. It was definitely a hate thing they stole nothing… just caused damages and left notes.
