Proof of God's existence

By using the famous five ways, Thomas Aquinas tells us that God does in fact exists. My question is: How fact can we say that he did actually prove the existence of God in the real sens of “proving” thing" What connection is there between material things and metaphysical realtiy?

As far as I know proof in the non-axiomatic system sense is that which convinces. That being said different people will require different amounts/types of convincing evidence.

If you are talking about proof in the axiomatic sense it seems like the answer to your question may hinge on whether or not some one accepts the axioms as true.
