Proof of the Resurrection...

I’m not sure where to post this, but anyway…

Can anyone recommend a book on the proofs of the Resurrection written with solid Catholic scholarship. I can recall “Evidence that Demands a Verdict” from my Southern Baptist youth, but this may be something that I give to nieces and nephews and godchildren, so I wish to be careful of any “slants” that are not in accord with Holy Mother Church’s teaching. Of course, the proofs of the Resurrection are the proofs of the Resurrection.

Anyone with suggestions?

I am currently reading a very good book about this, though it is from a Protestant perspective. So far the only thing I’ve found that is contrary to the Church’s teachings is the belief that Jesus had brothers. (I haven’t finished it yet, though.)

It’s “The Case for the Real Jesus” by Lee Strobel. He interviews several renowned scholars. They all seem to be Protestant.

I read the Kreeft article; the book expands on many of his arguments. (Thank you, J. Kirk, for the link. And, thank You, Lord, for Peter Kreeft!)

Anyway, I checked this book out of the library; I plan to purchase it and put it on my bookshelf right next to Catholicism and Fundamentalism.

Funny note: my not-too-great spell checker came up with several suggested names for Kreeft, but only one word: “reefer.” I don’t think so! 😃

Yes - that is a good book (the case for Christ, Lee Strobel) .

Thanks Ruthie - my bad (odd he would write a book so similar in title to his existing book The Case of Christ). Let me know what you think when you finish it - if you recommend it, I’ll pick up a copy.
