You are starting to remind me of Luther. My translation does not have “no other writings”.Can you please qualify your last statement with references?
The apocryphal books were never part of the Hebrew OT. The New Catholic Encyclopedia, has even acknowledged that the Jews did not accept the Apocrypha.
The Apostle Paul said the the Jews were given the “Oracles of God”, meaning God had entrusted them with His holy Word. (Rom 3:1,2) Jesus never once quoted from these books. H**e said the Scriptures consisted of the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms…no other writings! **
Just because Paul quoted from a Greek philosophy source, does that mean the source was inspired? The Jews rejected the apocrypha (which were Jewish books) because they have serious historical and other errors, and contained some fables. Most of these books were written during the 400 year silence after Malachi during a time when there were no prophets on the earth. No Scripture could be written during this time period!
My children’s names are John, Michelle and Elizabeth. Does that mean that those are my only children?
