Thank you Bro Rich. Our pastor became suddenly ill and asked me if I could help conduct communion services in his absence in place of daily Mass. A sister from our parish said that I should do everything, including saying the prayers from the sacramentary, except the consecration. I told her that I was not comfortable doing that. She said she has been doing this for years and that times have changed. I wanted to direct the parishioners to the other Catholic parish in town during the pastor’s absence which has a daily mass. Yet the pastor did not want this. He wanted us to conduct communion services saying that this was the wave of the church’s future. Still feel uneasy about conducting communion services and don’t want to send the wrong signals to the parishioners.
