Proper Prayers for LohT for Saints added after the publishing of the Supplement

I noticed that the Vatican website just added the propers for Blessed John Paul II: vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/ccdds/documents/rc_con_ccdds_doc_20110402_uff-letture_en.html

My questions is, does anyone have any of the proper prayers for the LotH for the other feasts added since the publishing of the supplement? Right now I use the commons, but I would rather have the propers.

At least I think it’s the latest edition - I know it has feasts that were restored to the calendar in 2002, like the Most Holy Name of Jesus (which is great, because you can’t pray that one from the Commons… no Common of Our Lord or of Names!).

OLJC the Supreme and Eternal Priest is an observance on particular calendars - it is on Spain’s and other Latin American countries and there is a priestly society which I think has it. I suppose you could email them and ask but it is not part of the Latin LOTH itself.

How to follow Christ?

It seems hard, my brethren, and burdensome to do what Christ orders in the Gospel: “If anyone wishes to follow me, let him deny himself.” But it is not hard, because what he orders, he also helps to make it come about.

“Let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow” Christ. And how should we follow Christ, except by going where he went. We know that he resurrected and ascended into heaven. That’s where we have to go. Clearly, there is no cause for despair, for this is what he promised, not that man can do all by himself. Heaven was far away from our Head went there. Why should we despair if we are members of that same Head? Why then? Because here on earth we are beset by many fears and sorrows: let us follow Christ then, where we find maximum happiness, maximum peace and perpetual security.
But whoever wishes to follow Christ, let him listen to what the Apostle says: “Whoever asserts to be in Christ must walk as she did”. Do you want to follow Christ? Be humble in those things in which he was humble: do not despise his humility if you want to attain his heights.

When man sinned, the way became hard; but it became easy when the risen Christ walked on it, turning an exceedingly narrow path into a highway. With the two feet of humility and charity we run on this highway. To attain the heights delights everyone: but humility is the first step. Why do you stretch your foot ahead? You would fall, not climb. Therefore, start with the first step of humility and you will have ascended.

That’s why our Lord and Savior not only said “Let him deny himself” but also added, “Let him take up his cross and follow me”. What does “take up the cross” mean? It means, let him bear something unpleasant, that’s how to follow me. The moment he starts following my precepts and habits, he will have many opponents, prohibitions and not just deriders but actually persecutors

And not only from pagans who are outside the Church, but also from those who appear to be inside the body, but as all they have of Christian is the name, they constantly persecute the true Christians. Such people are as much members of Christ as toxic humors are of a physical body. Therefore, if you wish to follow Christ do not delay in carrying his cross: tolerate the evil ones, but do not give in.

For, if we want to fulfill what the Lord said, “If anyone wants to come after me, let him take up his cross and follow me, let us try to fulfill with God’s help, what the Apostle says: “let us be content with food and clothing; lest by desiring things in excess of what s necessary to lead a sober life, we fall into temptation and into the snares of the devil, and into many useless and noxious desires, which bring men to death and perdition.” May the Lord free us from this temptation by placing us under his protection.

Oh, I wasn’t sure how that worked. It is in the Liturgia Horarum website I’d posted. But I haven’t been able to find any (English language) information about what that side (Almudi) is or what version of the LH that is.

Only Mary encompasses what the whole world cannot.

By bearing the Divine Son, Mary became heaven for us. On receding from the glory of the eternal Father, Christ agreed to be restricted within the limits of her womb, so as to bring men to a higher dignity. He chose her alone among the ranks of virgins, to be the instrument of our salvation.

All the prophesying of just men and the prophets had their sights on her. A most shining star issued from her, which led the people who walked in darkness into seeing a great light.

Mary can be called by many a name. She is the temple of the Son of God, who came from her differently from the way he had entered her; bodiless, he entered her womb, and with a full body he came out of it.

She is the new mystical heaven. The King of kings inhabited her as he had inhabited the heavens whence he came down to earth, assuming a certain species and likeness to himself. She is like the wine issuing sweet smelling fruits. As the fruit somewhat differs from the nature of the tree, so it was necessary that she should resemble the tree.

She is the spring issuing from the House of the Lord, with living waters for all who thirst, to the extent that he who first tastes it with his lips will never be thirsty again.

My dear ones, it is a serious error to think that the day of Mary’s restoration can be compared to that of any other creature. The earth was created at the beginning but renewed through her. At the beginning its activities were cursed owing to Adam’s crime; through her, peace and security were given back to it. At the beginning the sin of our first parents brought death to all, but now we are brought from death to life. At the beginning the serpent spread poison to the whole human body by filling Eve’s ears, now Mary’s ears received the announcement of eternal happiness. What was an instrument of death, now is one of life.

He, who sits over the Cherubs, is now cradled in a woman’s arms; she herself alone encompasses him whom the whole world cannot. Him, whom the Thrones and Dominations fear, the Maid keeps warm; he, whose seat lasts forever, sits now on the Virgin’s lap; he, for whom the earth is but a footstool, leaves on it his footprints.

The Virgin’s heart is firm: she conceived a divine mystery at the annunciation of the angel; she received the most beautiful of the children of men in her womb

If I understand correctly, the prayer for the LOTH is generally the same as the one in the Mass. For those saints that have come into the calendar after the supplement, I will pray the commons and then take the proper prayer for the saint from my copy of Magnificat.
