Prophesies from Fatima, etc

I was reading about some prophesies from our Blessed Mother, some are about Russia, or wars, persecutions of the Church, etc… these prophesies (at the bottom of the page, though the whole article is very interesting:thumbsup:) sound a lot like those from Fatima: mysticsofthechurch.com/2011/09/blessed-elena-aiello-mystic-stigmatic.html

So I was wondering, - could it be that they didn’t happen yet (and instead, Russia became no longer Communist) - because of the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?? The 3 days of darkness could still happen, etc, but as for the rest, these prophesies were given in the 50s and 60s when Russia was still very much Communist. Do you think that maybe some of them were delayed or wouldn’t happen at all, because of the consecration? Of course this is assuming the consecration was done, fully or partially.

Pope John Paul II’s consecration of the world definitely started the rolls that ended the Cold War, and the scourge of Communism in Russia, but I don’t think the world has escaped the chastisement.

We are now living through the chastisement and are witnessing it on a daily basis, inside and outside the church.
 
I found this article by Gueranger about the conversion of Russia when speaking of St Josaphat

Keep in mind he wrote this well before Fatima in the 1800s . One can see that even on a natural level what the conversion of Russia would look like.
 
We are living through the ‘‘Persecutions of the Church’’ right now.
 
Well I believe it is also true Russia is by large converting back to its roots of Christianity in the Apostolic Churchs now.

However the Pope has spoke on this in many ways. Books. Homilys, and the Vatican sight. Truth is we are still in the period of Fatima.

IMHO what is of most importance in to follow the message of Fatima as to Church, Confession, Reparation of sinners, Rosary etc. This in truth is not new and is the path.

Yes. I notice a strong trend among many Fatima enthusiasts to hyper-focus on the conspiracy, miracles and apocalyptic themes while assuming or creating distorted or incomplete information.

Russians may be more frequently becoming Orthodox, but this is a seperated state from the Holy Father.
Not union that all may be one.
How can this be the conversion that the Blessed Mother called for?
To not acknowledge the authority of the Holy Father over all Christians is not conversion.
 
We’re seeing some positive developments in Russia, with Vladimir Putin vowing to defend Christianity worldwide, but they’ve got a long way to go. For starters they need to make abortion illegal, and they also need to stop hampering the efforts of the Catholic Church in Russia.
 
Communism is anything but dead.

State-Communism was and is only a means to an end in Marxist theory. The goal is perfect anarchy. But since anarchy, especially as Marxists originally saw it, is inherently weak and feeble (because it vitiates society) it requires a global implementation, since any orderly and sane state could threaten the remainder.

Marxism is demonic as it seeks the flattening out of the human race (to its lowest common denominator, which to be frank is very, very low indeed). Communists were always very skilled at getting individuals to cooperate with Communism’s goals without their actively or consciously being aware of it. Like a slick marketing firm, they simply repackaged the same goods and sold them under different names.

Conservatives have to be weary of extremes: free-market theory is contrary to the well-ordered good of society when it is bound-up with an absolute liberty (i.e. license) to make profits. It is also inherently anarchistic. Consider that in free-market theory today there is absolutely nothing stopping Satan himself, for example, from starting his own firms and monopolizing the market. What do you think he will sell you for food? What do you think he will pay you? How do you think he will treat his employees? Exploiting people in any way is always a sin. Remember what the Apostle Paul said about masters and their slaves or servants. Both need to actively be mindful of the God they both ultimately serve. Exploitation is contrary to true Charity and, exactly because it is a sin, it vitiates human nature both individually and collectively i.e. it will have serious negative societal consequences. Doing it under the colour of business does not change the consequence of sin. The only markets that are good markets are Christian markets i.e. those in conformity with both the natural and Divine law. No one has a right to sin.

The State permits firms or corporations to exist ultimately for the benefit of the whole or common good. They therefore must be ordered to the good of society. If they no longer serve that purpose then they no longer have a purpose.

I have to stress that limited-liability firms are inherently anti-Christian in philosophy, since Christians do not believe in limited liability. We are always completely responsible before God for our actions and their consequences. The concept of limited liability is dangerous and must be actively managed or else it quickly degenerates into a licence. Limited liability is also a privilege (no one else enjoys it) that, exactly because it is a State legal privilege, is susceptible to special taxation (i.e. the profits that license generates). We should prefer to tax such entitites rather than individuals or families, for example.
 
This is popalatry.

The Holy Father could order everyone tomorrow to cease all evangelization and it would mean nothing. It’s a Divine Command to evangelize the world and has been since the beginning. It’s part and parcel of the Church’s mission.

The Holy Father can’t order anyone to not evangelize, any more than he could order someone to hate God or their neighbour.
 
I am not the one insinuating that the Holy Father ordered people to quit doing God’s Will.

The Holy Father has said:

[19] Be penitent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

Not converting people or sharing with them the Faith is no different than despising God, and it certainly is despising our neighbour because we consequently hoarde God’s goodness, Truth and True Church to ourselves, as if we had some monopoly right to it.

You need to be careful about how you word things. You (not I) gave the scandalous impression that we are not all obliged to be living examples for Christ, which is itself an evangel to the world. You gave the impression we are not to pray for people to be converted, which is part of evangelization and the most efficacious means for it, even necessary. You then proceeded to accuse me of doing something wrong.

Your definition of conversion is too narrow and thus not the one intended in the context of Fatima which spoke of Russian errors - i.e. Russia becoming an atheistic nation.

Conversion in the context of Fatima, and in many other contexts, simply and more broadly means a ‘turning back to God’, as opposed to becoming Catholic or Jewish, for example. Russia has certainly turned back to God, and is making slow but steady progress. I would not be surprised if in a few years Russia becomes more Christocentric than the West.
