In another post, the OP said she doesn’t feel that Jesus fulfilled all the prophesies. Is that true? Why or why not?

Has anyone here studied all the prophesies and found Jesus to have fulfilled them all?

If Jesus had fulfilled ALL the prophecies, the Jews would have accepted Him as messiah, no?

They expected the messiah to free them from the oppression of Rome - but we say that Jesus freed us in a spiritual way and the second coming will be to free us in a literal sense from the sin and evil present on earth where satan is the prince of the air.

He did fulfill many prophecies, and this could not have been coincidence.

He did fulfill many prophecies, and this could not have been coincidence.

Perhaps there was a translation error, Faith, or perhaps the prophecy was not interpreted correctly. Prophetic writing is difficult to interpret, well, can be difficult to interpret.

I have a list of about 400 prophecies Jesus did fulfill. What are the chances of “just someone” fulfilling about 400 messianic prophecies unless he was the Messiah? None, I’d say. I’ll see if I can find it.

In the bible I have on my desk right now, there are 44 prophecies fulfilled; i just counted them. There are more. I’ve never seen all of them listed at the same time although I’m sure you could find this somewhere on the net.

The fact the he didn’t set up an earthly kingdom in a literal sense is what holds the Jews back even today. Also, they say the temple has to be rebuilt before He could come (first time for them) so that’s holding them back too - although many Jews do accept Jesus as Messiah - Messianic Jews. You must know that they accept Jesus but maintain their Jewish customs.

We don’t know for sure what God has in mind for us. We have to accept that he’s doing everything just right. Many ask me why Jesus waited till the year 6 or 7 B.C. (approx) before coming to us in human form. Turns out that God has the timing and the timing was right.

Apparently the earthly kingdom is not to be for now but for when Jesus returns the second time. Remember when he was talking to Nicodemus in the garden outside Jerusalem? Jesus told him that the Kingdom is all around but you have to believe to see it. I do believe that Jesus was sent to set up a spiritual kingdom, and the earthly kingdom will not appear until the end of the world. (John 3:1)

Do you realize the chances of fulfilling more than 1 or 2 prophecies? All the prophecies He fulfilled would be like filling the state of Texas with silver coins a few inches in height. Putting one gold coin in there somewhere and then finding it. These are the same chances as Jesus fulfilling all the prophecies He did.

So we can’t worry about God’s timing. Or how He does things. Which is basically what your asking here. I think.

There’s still prophecies related to the second coming that haven’t occurred yet, obviously. Even jews recognize that there is a strange aspect to messianic prophecies, with some of these prophecies portraying the Messiah as a suffering servant and others portraying the Messiah as a conqueror. Many divide the prophecies up to say that there are actually 2 different Messiahs at 2 different times. One is called Messiah Ben Joseph and the other is called Messiah Ben David. This is written about in the Talmud.

Other jewish writings I’ve read state that not both prophecies could be fulfilled, yet there’s only one messiah. Which prophecies are fulfilled will depend upon how good the Jewish people are. So the victorious prophecies will only occur if the Jews are good, and the suffering prophecies will only occur if the Jews are bad.

They’re confused about them, whereas we know that it’s one messiah with two comings.

Jesus could not have fulfilled all prophesies, because not all were about him! Several were fulfill long before Christ’s day.

Did you read what I wrote about the prophecies of the second coming and jews themselves seeing both “suffering servant” prophecies and “conqueror” prophecies? When the Jew tells you that Jesus hasn’t fulfilled all the prophecies and thus can’t be the messiah, they’re usually looking at the conquering prophecies, which christ will fulfill at His return. It’s a little hypocritical for then to make this argument, since their own talmud and many jews see that there will be 2 different Messiahs at 2 different times. That means that, even in their own understanding of the scriptures, the prophecies aren’t all fulfilled at one time, but at least at 2 different times.

Jesus will be the conquering messiah at the second coming, when He destroys all evil.
