I would doubt many here actually scholarly, maybe ‘well versed’ would be a better way of saying it? Christ view of a prophet was more along the lines of anyone who was persecuted for righteousness sake, and their slain blood that of the endless martyrs and saints. He also mentions prophets not being excepted in their native land. I’m not familiar yet with the situations of all the prophets. Some of the Apocalyptic prophets such as Isaiah, Ezekiel, St. John The Divine, spoke much about the wrath of god, judgment day, freeing of the oppressed, silencing of the boastful, separation of the good and evil with finality. All three Apocalyptic prophets I mentioned either experienced a vision of God which sat them on their way. Many came across these vision either during the waking times or during sleep. It is thought in the case of St. John, it could have been with the assistance of The Holy Spirit.
