Hi CAF!

How about we make a list of pros (i.e. benefits, advantages, good things) of becoming and being a Catholic Christian?

Thanks!

While I’m not catholic nor even Christian I can see the pro of being able to be with as in at church with folks that believe as you do every single day if you wish or if you’re able to. What a great support system.

The sacraments, especially the Eucharist and reconciliation. Such gifts are beyond compare.

Knowing you are a part of the Church that Christ himself founded.

The Sacraments, especially The Eucharist and Confession. Community: you can go into a Catholic church at any time and you are welcome. Doesn’t matter if there is a wedding, funeral, etc.

Becoming Catholic has really made a positive difference in my life. The priest that I usually go to for Confession has helped me with my spiritual life, even though he may not realize it.

When you’re Catholic, you actually get to meet Jesus in person every Sunday in the Eucharist!

Because it is TRUE
Because it is GOOD
Because it is BEAUTIFUL

No matter where you travel in the entire world you are very likely to find a Catholic Church.
One true holy apostolic…all around the world 🙂

there are really no cons, actually
Well, you might get your head chopped off by Isis.
But that doesn’t matter a lot in the long run.

Note that I write this from the safety of a peaceful neighborhood in the US. Others may feel differently, and we pray for peace and protection for those in danger.

I’d say be the one thing people hate. We have a Pope, which I love, as it prevents doctrinal anarchy.

Mass is available daily.
Many people who are members of other denominations speak about Communion Sunday. As Catholics, every Sunday is “Communion Sunday.” The Mass is divided between the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist making the Eucharist available daily.
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Faith.
We can trace sacred Tradition protected by the Holy Spirit under the teaching authority of the Church, the magisterium, along with sacred Scripture.

Christ gave His mother, Mary, to be our mother when He placed her in John’s care at the foot of the cross. She is a powerful intercessor.
The Liturgy of the Hours allows us to bless the hours of the day, and in keeping with St. Paul’s admonition the Church prays unceasingly.
There are many common devotions which have developed over time. While the Catholic Faith itself is simple enough, the depth of what it has to offer can take a lifetime to explore.

  • Learning what true love is. God’s love.
  • Protection from evil.
  • Forgiveness of sins.
  • Sanctifying grace.
  • What does it profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his soul? What can a man give in exchange for his soul? Though we are weak. frail, human beings, we are also more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Therefore we have hope.
FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE!

-The Eucharist!!! 😃
-Feeling truly close to Jesus for the first time in my life (new convert here!)
-Confession (yes, I know that sounds crazy!)
-Learning about the saints and trying to model my life as such
-The sheer richness of the faith
-Moving closer to our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary
-Knowing in the very depths of my soul that I am a part of the Church that Our Lord and -Savior, Jesus Christ founded.

Knowing that you are a child of God and part of the one true Church founded by none other than Christ Himself. Doesn’t get any better than that to me :).
