Job 21:7-15 (KJV)
** 7Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
8Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
9Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
10Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
11They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
12They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
13They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
14Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
15What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?**

I am not ranting against God in this, but like JOB above, I truly DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS. Have I been an AWFUL sinner? YES. Have I been an awful sexual sinner? Yes, I HAVE. Have I ever done something(s) that, intentionally or not, endangered the innocent, even loved ones? YES. Have I ever done grossly wrong things? YES I HAVE.
BUT. I have REPENTED. I am trying, SO hard, to live a life of grace, & am having a living hell of it most of the time. Barely able to make ends meet. Can’t even give to the church. let alone my family, the kind of help I ought & want to GIVE.
I’m not asking God to reward my repentance and trying to live faithfully by making me a pampered millionaire, but I’m overwhelmed with guilt, even after confession.
I can barely make a living to survive. I blame myself because I never finished my college education. Part of it was lack of effort, EXACERBATED GREATLY because I was raised in a cult religion that told me that THE END was coming, definitely, SO SOON that a college or advanced education WOULD BE USELESS and even offensive to God. So that’s not ALL my fault either. But I AM REPENTANT for my sins.

BUT I LOOK AT FOLKS I KNOW, many of whom are Facebook friends and etc. They have no fear of God. And NO respect for those who do.Some are dissidents. Some active homosexuals who call those who call this behavior sin, HATE MONGERS & EVIL. Many disbelieve in God (even tho they were raised in some form of Christianity, are very blasphemous, etc). Many of THEM do not have college educations, either. Others curse all who hold to traditional morals as “evil”, “despicable,” “not even human”, advocate Gay Marriage, advocate that THE CHURCH **must condone **these and other evils (like abortion, contraception, transgenderism, sodomy, lesbianism, ordination of “womyn”, etc). They mock, hate all who hold traditional Christian-based values, condemn them (like Ted Haggard) when they fall into the VERY SINS that THEY ADVOCATE AND CONDONE. THEY ARE NOT REPENTANT AND ARE NOT ABOUT TO REPENT AND WOULD REQUIRE A DAMASCUS ROAD EXPERIENCE TO REPENT, AND (if their statements are any indication), THEY WOULD REJECT EVEN THAT.

My point: my sins were horrible, even after baptism, but I finally did repent, and have been under horrific oppression, spiritually and financially, morally & economically, for the past two years, while the people I’ve described above, who are defiant, unrepentant, hateful of godfearing people, and haters of God and blasphemers, are PROSPERING LIKE MAD.
I have no college degree, but neither do many of them, but I am suffering like HELL, and THEY have TERRIFIC jobs, paying four times what I make or MORE.
WHY is this??? Are we Christians being MOCKED? Why are those who turn their lives around, supposedly to the Rejoicing of the Angels in Heaven, suffering like Pure Hell, while those who don’t give a RAT’S FANNY about obeying God or repenting, having prosperous, happy, successful lives?
God promises to provide ALL the temporal needs, NOT JUST SPIRITUAL, of his servants.
(Don’t tell me he DOESN’T promise that, because Christ promised it, in detail, in context, in the gospels, when he spoke about God clothing the Lilies of the Field and that he would ALL THE MORE provide our needs, o us of Little Faith).
So WHY are so many of us constantly, with almost NO let up, going through all PURE hell, while the HATERS OF GOD and HATERS of those who try to Obey God, prospering like MAD? Why? Why? What good are they doing for the world? They are deliberately CORRUPTING it, living materialistically, using their money to PROMOTE EVIL instead of to promote the Faith (like I would do if I had it. I know I would, because I give what LITTLE I can to do JUST THAT). Does God WANT the Church and it’s believers to have NO MONEY to help further the spread of the Kingdom? I just don’t understand. I AM NOT QUESTIONING GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS.
I am just trying to understand what MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL, namely,
WHY those who promote EVIL have PLENTY OF MONEY TO DO SO,
while those of us who want to 1) satisfy all our just debts and 2) USE OUR FUNDS TO PROMOTE GOD’S KINGDOM, CHURCH, AND RIGHTEOUS CAUSES, have LITTLE OR NO MONEY to do so. It is frustrating me to DEATH, and I don’t know what to make of it. PLUS, I know from experience, that many Sunday-Catholics, who DO HAVE money, put a mere DOLLAR in the plate, to support the church, and that’s ALL they give the WHOLE week. I don’t THINK this, I KNOW this, because our church’s finances and weekly “takes” are posted in the bulletin. That one buck a week is per-capita. I go to a well-off parish, and PER CAPITA, the total giving per person is about a BUCK a week. That means that MANY of our well-off, are giving NOTHING, zero, zilch, NADA, to God’s House and God’s Work. This too, I don’t understand.
Could ANY of you good people, with insight into this, please help me understand?
Thank you and God love all of you.
Kindest regards, blessings to all,
Jaypeeto4

I’m going to vent and question a little bit more.
Please, I DO NOT mean to “judge” or “offend” any of you good, godfearing brothers and sisters.
But, for many years, I gave GOBS AND GOBS of money, going deep into credit card debt which in hindsight I shouldn’t have done, to support Godly things. Only to discover, to my great shock and dismay, that most “proLife” and “proFamily” Catholics are not giving one thin dime per year. I am not exaggerating. I DID THE MATH.
There are 67 million Catholics in this country. About a little less than half, if polls are to be believed, are truly faithful doctrinally and morally. God love them.
But that’s 34 million people. About roughly say, 15 million would be adults, even more now, since these numbers are several years old. Then add all the pro-life, pro-family Evangelicals. Now you’ve got about 55 to 60 MILLION proLife, proFamily, proGod Christians.
Now. Let me give a couple of examples of how even godly people are NOT giving ANYTHING to support the Lord’s work. I know that NOT ALL Catholics and evangelicals are well off, BUT A GREAT MANY ARE and are in fact, even in these wicked times, LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM TO THE FULL. (by the way, the apostles said NOT TO DO THAT, NOT to use the world to the full, live high on the hog, live well and VERY comfortably with lots of perks, but I digress). Anyway.
Holy Cross Family Ministries and Family Rosary were founded by the late, great wonderful Father Patrick Peyton. Since 1990, 22 years ago, they have given out, thanks to donations, 20 million free rosaries around the world. FABULOUS!! But wait. That’s less than a million rosaries a year. Now. A $10 donation provides 50 Free Rosaries.
Suddenly, those donations become not only not impressive, but shamefully insignificant.
$200 provides a thousand rosaries. One thousand times one thousand is a million.
So, $200,000 provides a million free rosaries. Times 22 years, for 20 million rosaries.
Folks, out of about 15 million faithful adult Catholics, that’s less than $200,000 a year.
Divide that 200,000 by 13 (not 15 million, allowing for the poor) million Catholics. That’s less than a few CENTS a YEAR to provide Rosaries for our brethren and converts around the world. No WONDER Mary said at Fatima that people are falling into Hell like snowlflakes because NO ONE is making sacifices or praying for them. A few cents a year. My gosh, we spend more than that each day on a pack of chewing gum.
The ProLife Movement? There are 55 million proLifers, including faithful catholics and evangelicals. There are two HUGE ProLife organizations, Judie Brown’s catholic American Life League, and the National Right to Life Committee. And 55 million pro-life catholics and evangelicals. Let’s chop off a generous 10 million of them as too poor to help out. That’s 45 million. Now. The annual take-in of the Two Groups is a total of about $50 million in a good year. Folks, that is less, per Capita, than $1.50 per year per proLife adult. No WONDER we can’t get out the proLife vote. This is shocking. Truly shocking. While we drive our Lexuses and SUVs and buy our $300,000 homes and finest furniture and live the American dream while babies are being slaughtered. What’s going on here?
Remember, that $1.50 per year per proLifer is PER CAPITA. Tens of thousands of us give $100, $250, $500, or $1000 a year or more. So tally that up, and subtract it from the total, and the result, the INEVITABLE result, is that most proLifers are not giving even a mere 50 CENTS A YEAR to the ProLife movement.
The numbers don’t lie, brothers and sisters. So what are our priorities? I am in debt now, and can only afford, after paying my due debt payments, to give a little. But many are giving nothing at all. And if all had given a mere $25 or $50 a year, many thousands of us would not be deep in debt today for trying to make up for those who will not and do not, give ANYTHING but lip service when THEY DO HAVE THE MEANS to at least give $25 to $50 a year. I am not necessarily castigating any of YOU, much less daring to judge any of YOU, but I am pointing out shocking, and shamefully real, FACTS.
God love all of you,

Mark 8:[36] For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul? [37] Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Luke 12:[34] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

James 4:[4] Adulterers, know you not that the friendship of this world is the enemy of God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of this world, becometh an enemy of God.

Colossians 2:[20] If then you be dead with Christ from the elements of this world, why do you yet decree as though living in the world?

John 14:[27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.

Psalm 4:1 When I call, answer me, God, upholder of my right. In my distress you have set me at large; take pity on me and hear my prayer!
2 Children of men, how long will you be heavy of heart, why love what is vain and chase after illusions?
3 Realise that Yahweh performs wonders for his faithful, Yahweh listens when I call to him.
4 Be careful not to sin, speak in your hearts, and on your beds keep silence.
5 Loyally offer sacrifices, and trust in Yahweh.
6 Many keep saying, ‘Who will put happiness before our eyes?’ Let the light of your face shine on us. Yahweh,
7 to my heart you are a richer joy than all their corn and new wine.
8 In peace I lie down and at once fall asleep, for it is you and none other, Yahweh, who make me rest secure.

Thank you!👍 Going through some issues myself full of struggles and heartaches. This reminder really lifted up my spirits, sometimes need a reminder to help me stay strong in my faith. 🙂

Don’t have time to look it up, but just to add to the above NT quotes…
Jesus, when healing a cripple said that he was not crippled due to sin, but that the glory of God might be shown.
Also Jesus made the statement that the Father makes it rain on the just and unjust alike.

So do not be concerned over the matters of this world, the good - but perishable and fleeting - things. Be happy in God, with what you have, and Give glory to Him who is your first and greatest Love.

Peace
James

The only thing that comes to mind to me is when Jesus went to spend his 40 days alone and the devil said if you worship me I’ll give you everything, so who is rewarding these people who are living like theres no tomorrow and living sinful lives, God or Satan? Satan I think.

There’s business choices I don’t make because of my faith (I’m self employed) and so I earn less money.

I choose to make my family a priority over my business, and so I earn less money.

There’s people I don’t suck up to or cultivate as friends and so I earn less money.

There’s “networking” activities I don’t participate in because they are to my mind not worthy of a Catholic and so I earn less money.

There’s products I choose not to sell to my clients, because it would put them at too much risk, and so I earn less money.

But these are self-interested choices.

I enjoy my family, and I’m hoping for a larger prize called eternal life.👍

It is a blessing that God has opened your eyes to see this and you have kept your faith. Psalm 73 sums this situation up pretty well. These times will make you stronger.Pray hard to exercise and build your spiritual strength.God might be preparing you. Those living in prosperity as you mentioned are less fortunate as they may be blind sided by tragedy and the spiritually weak may lose their faith. Pray for them.

I understand what you are saying and my prayers are with you.

We must always remember God has a plan and reason for everything. I understand these words are quite empty to you now in your current situation.

However, I truly understand what you are saying. You feel and know in your heart you have sinned in the past, but have confessed and are truly repentant. You have been struggling a long time and probably justified a certain length of it, but now are at your wit’s end wondering why does it continue. Unfortunately, that is not ours to know.

God has plans for you and is preparing you for something. This difficult time will eventually pass. These people will no longer bother you or effect you as they do now. It is pointless to question things and compare ourselves to others. It’s human, but pointless. It will only give you more grief. God doesn’t compare us to other people- good or bad. We are each unique individuals, but who we are compared to and called to live as is Jesus.

It’s human to have bad days and feel like we can’t take more and then ask God, why or be upset. However, you have to find a way to over come feeling like this every single day. Maybe God is waiting for you to reach a point of accepting this difficult situation and saying, okay- this is where you want me now; it is not pleasant, but I will still find joy in the Lord and in my life.

Instead of questioning God and comparing yourself to others -try to find and point out (be thankful ) for the small things. Make this a habit and abandon yourself to God’s will. Give God the wheel to take over and as you always have - keep the faith knowing he will take care of you. Did you have lunch today? Thank God for providing for you - some people have to decide which meal they will eat if any. Do you have a bed and pillows and blankets? Thank God for this in prayer.

Many people do not have these things and I know you’re aware of this as you’ve been so kind and generous to help others. Perhaps, you are already doing these things. I only pointed out these examples because sometimes God may want to be certain we are thankful to him for the things many of us take for granted before blessing us with more.

I hope I haven’t upset or offended you with my thoughts.

You have been given the grace to see the truth. You see just fine. By your post that is evident. Maybe it’s to compel you to clean your house. Just do so and you will see even clearer, then you will be in a place to actually do something. Be intent on cleaning your house and you will not have time to point your finger, you will be too busy looking in the mirror (not in a vain way) and praying for those that you once pointed your finger and giving thanks that you are so blessed to see the truth and that you don‘t fall into the pitfalls of the socially acceptable.

continued blessings…

Here’s a quote I came across on a blog just now that seems to fit right in:

"I once heard a talk by Dr. Scott Hahn, and he was really challenging a group of pro-life orthodox “hard core” Catholics. Dr. Hahn noted that it is really easy for people to fight hard against sins which are not a challenge for them to commit. It is important to note that Dr. Hahn is one of the most pro-life Catholics on the planet - his challenge to people was “are you railing against issues that aren’t difficult for you not to commit, while failing to look in yourself?” Dr. Hahn is obviously not saying “stop speaking out on pro-life issues” but is saying “WHILE fighting evil external to yourself, don’t look past your own issues.”

~~ Fr John Hollowell

on-this-rock.blogspot.com/

Why do Dr. Hahn’s quotes, quoted above, seem to fit right in?
In context, you seem to be accusing or at least hinting that I am
a willful and practicing sinner, not repentant, and just griping about abortion.

That’s not my point at ALL.
I am repentant, and NOT doing mere finger-pointing.
What I don’t understand is why many, who are unrepentant,DEFIANT against
God, OPENLY SO, prosper so greatly, when repentant people or those who never fell into BIG sins in the first place, are suffering like mad while working their tails off. I do realize that often that prosperity comes from the Evil One,and I certainly DON’T want anything from HIM.

As for the other issues, my point is not to harp on the pro-Life movement or point fingers.
But this is for real. The facts are, and the math doesn’t lie, that many, many pro-life, pro-family Christians, evangelical AND catholic, are giving NOTHING financially, annually, to support these necessary, good causes. Not just poor folk, which is understandable, but those, otherwise godfearing, who want to live the American Dream as if all is normal when we are in a horrific battle for the Soul of this nation AND FOR OUR ABILITY to survive, legally, as a CHURCH, for the “liberals” have now become extremely aggressive about FORCING the Church, by LAW, to violate it’s teachings. Yet even THAT won’t stop hell-bent Catholics from again voting for these people come November.
Scott Hahn is right that it’s easy to gripe about sins we are not ourselves tempted to commit while ignoring our own. I am not doing that. Even when I was continually falling, I was ashamed of it and kept trying to successfully repent even then. Those who advocate these evils ARE worse, because they are DEFIANT and WILLFUL in their sins. This is not fingerpointing, it is cold, demonstrable FACT, and we can read their filthy, unspeakably filthy and blasphemous remarks, in the comments sections on say, The Huffington Post. These commentators actually OPENLY HATE GOD, passionately, and I never knew such people existed in America til recently.

As far as proLife, proFamily Christians giving NOTHING to support these movements, that too is fact as far as the majority of them are concerned. Not just the poor ones or lower income ones, either, which is thoroughly justifiable. THAT I do NOT understand.
I am still poor, and I manage to give a LITTLE to proLife and proFamily. I am not, at all, trying to “toot my horn” over this. I am merely pointing out that WHERE THERE’S a WILL, there’s a WAY. NOBODY expects the majority of the tens of millions of middle to upper-middle class proLifers to give thousands of bucks EACH to the causes.
There are about 10 really good causes, proLife and proFamily, that really need support. We are only talking about $20 to $25 bucks per cause, PER YEAR. Sorry, but the reality is that MOST Americans CAN swing that, even in these times. Some refuse to (and have said so) because “they don’t want to get any junk mail.” Good lord, babies are being slaughtered by the millions, and people are griping about some unwanted junk mail.
For pete’s sake, all one has to do is rip it up and throw it in the trash can, problem solved.
God forbid we should ever have to fight a terrorist enemy on a battlefield if we can’t handle some junk mail, for heaven’s sake.
The same goes for church. The pastors aren’t lying when they publish the parish bulletin. We all KNOW, and love and embrace, those members of our parishes who CANNOT contribute anything to the parish. God warmly loves and welcomes them. But when we have a parking lot full of expensive late-model cars, and a few dozen people who give $50 a week or more to the parish, but the per-capita take is $4.50 or so, that means that MOST of our middle to upper-middle-class parishoners are giving less than a BUCK a week to the church. I am not judging anyone, I’m just saying that I cannot understand such things. Do we really believe that our Lord’s House deserves such almost non-existent support?? Or that He smiles upon that?? Where are the priorities??
That “take” published in the bulletin is, in case anyone thinks I’m leaving out stuff, the TOTAL take for the whole week (including gifts not given in the Plate on Sunday).
People, who CAN afford to give, aren’t giving, even to (as at my parish) churches with wonderful, orthodox, loving pastor/priests. This is not my observation alone. ORTHODOX (not griping liberals or ultra-right-wing extreme traditionalists) writers have noticed this and have written books about it. On amazon.com there is even a book called WHY CATHOLICS DON’T GIVE.
I’m not pointing the finger at ANYone. But it makes me wonder if I, and others, should also stop giving. I am not well off at all. WHY should I, who am not well off, help subsidize the bread, wine, air conditioning, repaired pews, carpets, etc., so that those who can give but WON’T (even though the pastor politely begs them to over and over again) can come to a nice air-conditioned church and receive the sacraments but not help out at ALL? I’m just wondering if God would be mad at me if I cut back MY giving. I don’t want to, but when nobody else helps out (in general), I kind of feel like I, and the families who DO give, are being walked on.
Again, it is NOT poor people and those in dire straits who are refusing to give.
Sorry for rambling, but I don’t understand not giving to the Lord’s house.
Any of us who are familiar with **evangelical churches **know full-well that the
middle-to-upper middle class members of THOSE churches, who regularly refused to financially support THOSE churches, would eventually be - **sometimes publicly **- “called out” for that lack of basic support.
God love all of you, and bless and prosper you.

‘He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’ (Micah 6:8)

‘This is what the Lord Almighty says ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other’ (Zechariah 7:9).

‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ (Matthew 25: 35,36)

Jaypeeto,

You clearly have a strong sense of social justice and that is to be commended.

However, I fear that you allow this sense of justice to drive you to jealousy and despair. You need to offer these matters to God so that they do not weigh so heavily on you. God has called you to repentance and is teaching you His ways. Instead of being concerned that the unrepentant thrive, you should pray for them earnestly.

Also, please stop yelling. The repeated use of all caps in your writing could be considered poor forum etiquette.

Okay, I will admit to occasional despair at times, but I have no savings thanks to unemployment for a long time, elderly parents who need my help, and when I do hard work and earn the commission, sorry, but I damn-well expect to receive it.
When another co-worker, an habitual bully, steals those sales from me (and I cannot confront her and demand to RETAIN my sale in front of the customer, and she knows that, That is not Jealousy, it is 100% justified. I personally don’t mind if she earns a mint, so long as it is HER work she is being paid for and not mine.
As for praying earnestly for her, I do, I not only pray for her myself, but I have masses said for her, and have enrolled her perpetually in the Seraphic Mass Association to have her bathed constantly in prayer.
Not to toot my own horn here, because that is an UGLY and unseemly thing to do,
but I do pray for the unrepentant, almost incessantly, with the “Act of Love” given by Jesus himself to Sister Maria Consolata Betrone, in which Act, He has promised to convert/Save 1 soul each time it is said AND repair 1,000 blasphemies.
Do not pooh-pooh such promises attached to prayers, as if they are superstitious or attempts at magic. Remember in the O.T. the Assyrian general who went to see the Prophet (Elisha I believe). The prophet sent him word to go bathe in the (mucky, dirty) Jordan River seven times — that’s IT — and God would heal him. The general balked, saying we have nicer rivers back home, why should I do this silly thing?
His advisors urged him, at least TRY what the prophet said. So he did, and he was healed. There is no magic in the waters of the Jordan, the prophet was not being superstitious in telling him to do that. But he did it, and God healed him. Jesus has attached powerful efficacy to CERTAIN prayers in these times. The “Act of Love” is one of them, as is the Divine Mercy conversion prayer. I pray these incesantly, for myself and for thousands of others.
I seriously doubt if there are many people who pray as much as I do, and that’s not tooting my own horn either. I start a prayer group on CAF, which has thousands of visitors, and only a few (wonderful) people show up to join in. Same at church. Pastor posts the names of people who need prayers in the bulletin. A simple hail mary each would do, or an Act of Love for each, but guess where most church bulletins end up?
Yup. They are left in the pew, unread, after Mass, so most folks don’t even pray for their sick fellow parishoners and priests.
We all need to pray for others more.
But I am not “jealous” of these people. There are moments when that happens, and I ask God to take it away. The term is not jealousy, it would more correctly be called PERPLEXITY. I know that many of these highly successful folks, some who do nothing more than push a pencil and delegate all real work to everyone else, Never pray to God for guidance and help, yet they prosper. Jealousy? Not really.
Perplexity? Yes. Even the prophets of the Old Testament noticed this and raised the issue with God: Lord, Why IS this??? Their crops flourish, their children are strong and numerous, yet they are as evil and godless as can be. Why Lord? (I’m paraphrasing a bit, but that’s what the prophets asked many times). These things are, and will remain,
mysteries. I just have to accept them.
But what I will not accept is another employee, a co-worker used to bullying everyone in the store, causing me to make $150 to $300 a week less than I would be making, and NEED to make, because she is stealing my sales and getting away with it.
I finally put my foot down. THAT is never going to happen again. For a long time, I reluctantly accepted it as a penance, but this is Ridiculous. I have elderly folks I have to help out and bills to pay. I am not working for charity so that she can take home a Grand a week at MY expense.
As for “yelling”, I do not mean to Yell. I use ALL CAPS not to yell, but for emphasis on certain points. It has been my experience that when I merely use bolded words or italics, others often do not understand that I am trying to emphasize a particular point.
There is no such thing, in reality, as yelling in print. It’s a matter, really, of hypersensitivity on some readers’s parts. Unless the poster posts a page full of nothing but all caps. That hurts MY eyes, too.
Peace and blessings,
Jaypeeto4

Well, a coworker cheating you out of money is another matter. I hope you can resolve this and receive what is rightfully yours.

As for all caps being considered yelling, it is fairly commonly agreed to be the case in internet/email etiquette. If you doubt this, just google it. As for wishing to emphasise certain points, I’m sure what you have written is sufficient to convey your message. Any form of grammatical emphasis should be used very sparingly as all caps, ***, bolding, italics, etc are actually distractions that hamper the flow of your writing.

Perplexity is a theme that runs through the bible, as you point out. Job and the Psalms in particular look at the relationship between the just, the unjust, and God who sends rain on them both. Yet God does not provide an explanation to us, and indeed rebukes Job when challenged. There are many mysteries in life that God chooses not to reveal to us now and it is sufficient to put our faith in Him and focus on our own lives, loving God and neighbour. I hope you can offer your perplexity to God and find peace in Him.

You can have it in this life or the next.

[BIBLEDRB]Luke 16:19-25[/BIBLEDRB]

If you are poor, without worldly recognition, sick, hungry, in pain, it is a special blessing of the true God of Heaven, it makes you a close friend of our brother Jesus. “Blessed are ye poor, blessed are ye that hunger, blessed are ye that mourn, blessed are ye when all men hate you and separate themselves for your company.”

If you are rich, popular, successful, then you have problems. “Alas for ye rich, alas for you that are filled, alas for ye that laugh, alas for ye when men speak well of you.” If you have these things, it means have been given them by the Lord of this World, the Devil, who says “all things on earth have been given to me, and I give them to those who please me.”

Propserity is very bad. The path to hell is paved with pleasure, riches, popularity. The path to heaven is the narrow door of suffering, the hard road of poverty, wordly contempt, pain and misery. St. James says that to accumulate treasure on earth is to accumulate fire on the last day.

I hope this helps.

I am not necessarily castigating any of YOU, much less daring to judge any of YOU, but I am pointing out shocking, and shamefully real, FACTS.
God love all of you,
Jaypeeto4 😦
Thank you, Jaypeeto4, for your post calling us Catholics to action. You certainly make some strong points. I can’t answer your questions and I’m sorry that things are not going well for you at the moment. I will pray that things will begin to look up.

Off topic, I laughed a little when to avoid using the phrase “rat’s ss," you used the phrase "rat’s fnny.” That’s about a million times more offensive in British English that the phrase you wanted to avoid.
