I also give generously to the church, because I can. And because I know the church needs it. I’m not trying to make up for anyone else’s shortfalls. My gift is mine to give without reservations, questions, or “yes, but’s”. I don’t want to know what others are giving or not giving. It really doesn’t matter.
We’ve recently discussed at our church that during different times of our lives we’re able to give more time, at others more money. This is definitely a personal decision.
All those “things” the others have are just that “Things”; they are of the temportal world. God will give us what we need. And when he gives, he gives generously.
