I have to agree that this is going to go nowhere. I have to say, however, that my “repeated answers” are no more a shield than are the answers one would receive from someone arguing for Catholic beliefs. And please note, I am not even arguing that Catholic beliefs are incorrect. Just that those who believe otherwise are just as sincere in their beliefs are you are in yours. Personally, I suspect that NONE of us has it 100 percent correct.

There are quite enough words which have been over-stretched - must “Protestant” become as meaningless as “Christian”, “liberal”, “conservative”, & others ? If words become meaningless - how are we to speak of what they refer to ?

I am thinking that they were in place and having the same belief system before as they do now. I believe that they are an original part of the Church. They did not come up with new teachings and make up their own religion after the break. That is a special case. I should have recognized that in the statement. They are the Eastern sect of the Church. They did not create new doctrine after the break and were not founded by men.
