His work, he said, led to the discovery that the ribosome must have assembled itself from basic building blocks ``in a very specific order; otherwise it would have fallen apart.’’

So the explanation for how such a complex biological molecule could spontaneously assemble is “It must have done it gradually and in the correct order”?

And how did Neil Armstrong walk to the moon? I imagine he did it very skillfully and one step at a time. Otherwise he would have fallen over.

I’m not saying Professor Steinberg is wrong, but there’s certainly a whiff of tautology about the article.

You noticed that to? 🙂 Not that I’m a supporter of ID, but sometimes I find the arguments against ID are almost as bad as the arguments for…

But then again, I’m an Arts student, so I should just keep my mouth shut. 🙂

It must have happened that way so it happened that way? I call this arguing from insistence.

And once again, the thoroughly refuted concept of ID rears its supposedly thoroughly refuted head.

Peace,

I’m sorry. I am not quite getting how he says it happens. I just got that it is supposed to come together. I know it said from smaller bits and stuff. but, how did it get together? He used the analogy that “comparing most other biological molecules to this behemoth (ribosome) is like comparing a tricycle to a jumbo jet,”. Wouldn’t that kinda of complexity be hard to come by randomly. It almost sounds like an argument against it. Granted I am a bit tired and stressed. Am I overlooking something?

Well I’m sure the journalist who wrote the article has almost as little understanding of the subject matter as I do (he’s probably an Arts student as well. 🙂

It would be interesting to read the article in Nature though.

God bless,
Ut
