You said that all Protestant denominations lead to the same conclusion, that the Bible doesn’t teach things Catholics believe. In the same sentence you say that the Word of God is supreme above all else. Then you go on and list things that the Bible doesn’t teach, but yet you believe, such as which books belong in the Bible. Do you not see the irony of your statement? So again, how does one decide what is essential and what is non-essential? If this list is not giving to you in the Bible, that which is “supreme above all else,” how do you come up with it? How do you know that your list of essentials is right, but another non-Catholic might say in addition to the 6 things you named, baptism is absolutely necessary for salvation?
