Hi All,

I’m a contractor and also a catholic, is it morally right for me to give my product and services to a Protestant Church who i know despise the Catholic Church?

thanks
Marlo

When you say give, do you mean give for free, or do you mean sell?

I always have helped anyone that needs it. My neighbor who thinks that people who believe in God believes in fairy tales fell quite ill and I did not think twice before I assisted in his home care, at no charge.

I do not think it is wrong for you to offer your services. IMHO

I’m shocked they’d hire a Catholic for ay work to begin with. No I wouldn’t give your product or services to a Protestant Church that DESPISE the Catholic church. Those are strong words and no need to serve a Church that despises the Church that Jesus founded.
Wipe the dust from your feet and move on.

Mary.

My concern is not about working for a non-Catholic employer. My concern for you is the daily onslaught you will receive once the people you are building for decide to try and proselytize you.

You would be under a spiritual attack every time you step on the job site.

Hello Paul

I mean, To sell our product and services to a protestant church in which the purpose of the our product is to preserve their triumphant church history, so that every member can be proud of. Well most of their members are ex catholic, so it really bothers me, however i do not want to create an impression that me and my company has religious discrimination issue.

You don’t say what your product or service is. If it were something building or property related, I would not worry. If, however, it is something actually promoting their anti-Catholic beliefs, like printing or website development, I would say no.

Lets say the Watchtower Museum to be protected by a Fire Alarm, CCTV and security system so that their books, memorabilia and pamphlets are kept safe. Members and their visitors can view their pictures, books and other items related to their church history to show how they have been successful in the promoting the will of God, what do you think?

Unless you have other contracts lined up and do not really need this project, I would take on the project. You have to support yourself, family and any employees.

If you receive any religious harassment during the project, see an attorney if there is any legal relief. I don’t think that the work site should be the ground for any religious debates. Just get the job done and get out.

Thanks all, Really appreciate it

Think of all the Blessings God promises for such cases

On a tour of Africa, when in Yemen, which is a Muslim country, Mother Teresa asked a rich Yemeni to finance the building of a mosque so that the people had someplace to gather together and pray to God.
If it was not a sin for Mother Teresa to do that then I don’t see why you should have any moral problems with what you are doing.

I agree–work is work. If you owned a grocery store would you refuse to sell these people groceries? Jesus raised the daughter of a centurion from the dead. Many people despised Him and it never stopped Him from trying to help them. Perhaps your association with this group may result in a good that you can’t see right now on down the line. Use the talent that God gave you to help your brothers and sisters in the same spirit that Our Lord did.
