So… I know that many Protestants believe that a true faith will produce works…

Regardless of whether it is because of your new state and it is just a ‘property’ of a Christian as most Protestants describe, or if it is a Choice as many Catholics would describe…

Looking at the true definition of faith (Believing in something not seen) as opposed to allegorical definitions like 'Faith is a love in Christ that is all encompassing that…"

Do any protestant denominations teach in Salvation by Belief Alone… Which is really what Faith alone really means when looking at the definitions of the word

In Christ

If good works are just a property of a Christian then the Christian would do every single good work God desired of them. But is this reality? Can any Christian state truthfully that they have done every good work that presented itself to them? Or do Christians sometimes avoid doing good works?

An apple tree doesn’t avoid producing apples. It always produces all the apples it can. A rock doesn’t decide on certain days not to fall when released off a roof. It always falls. But does a Christian do good works automatically like a tree produces fruit, or like a rock falls?

As a keeper of fruit trees, I want to point out that the tree, though it’s natural state is to produce as much fruit as it can, does have problems doing so at times. If it is diseased, it is encumbered. If it is infested with bugs it is prevented or hindered in fruit, If it does not get enough food, light, or nutrients, then it’s production is affected. I suspect that all these conditions also apply to the Christian.

True, we are all fallen creatures. But does a fruit tree ever just decide “I don’t care if conditions are good, I’m just not gonna bother producing any fruit this season”? Of course we both know that’s not the case.

I think my question is best worded when I asked if every Christian does every good work that God desires of him. God, who knows the problems and limitations of each Christian, would never desire a good work that he knew could not be performed. So, I ask our Faith Alone friends, does every Christian do every good work that God desires of him? If doing good works were just a “property” of being Christian then the anwer would be yes, wouldn’t it?

ok… well… i guess I shoulda clarified…

Regardless of what you think about the importance of works…

Faith per Hebrews 11 as well as the dictionary simply means believing in something without evidence (unseen)

Using THAT definition…

Do any protestants belief in salvation by BELIEF alone. Saying we are saved by Faith Alone using the provided definition means just that… salvation by belief alone…
