Yes it is an interesting remark I give you that, but many people knit stories out of these small things and soon they get big…just for the record i only said it was an interesting …
It wasn’t Rome itself God hated. After all, he did create the land itself, though the government was of men. What God hated was the immorality of many Romans.A number is what determines the canon? I’m sorry, but this argument is stupid and poor.
I could also say, “Catholicism comes from Rome. God hates Rome. Therefore, the Roman Catholic Church is false.” You wouldn’t like that, would you.
God bless.
Some of the Church Fathers counted the number of Old Testament books as 22 (there way of counting them was different from ours) which is the same as the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet. So in the course of the reformation the list of the bible books for the protestant came out to be 66 books … I am not big in numerology but i think the meaning of the number is interesting.
Mmhhh… and this is only 66 (LINK) and not 666… that would be worse…
That is about as ridiculous as the “Vicarius Filii Dei” argument… or the fact that the ancient Greek word for “the Latin speaking man” is LATEINOS which has a numeric value of 666 too. (LINK to the article)
We do not need to be reading something into things that might be there or might show up… we will see what happens…
By the way…
