We may not have unforgiven sin at any particulair time but we are still not perfect since there is still a taint in us.
See, this is why I’m not a Protestant anymore. (I’m not a Catholic yet, either, but not by choice

) It’s too simplistic yet makes no sense. So, God forgives us and cleanses us, yet there’s still a taint. So He doesn’t do it right? If he cleanses us, we’re clean. There’s no taint. If I put a load of white laundry in to wash and I finish it up and the clothes still look dingy (even if they smell clean and have been washed, so therefore, a “taint” is still on them), do I put them straight into the dryer? No, I wash them again, maybe throw some extra bleach in or something. Mark 7:15 says: “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.” That would mean that, conversely, nothing from without can cleanse a man, either. There has to be an INNER cleansing, not just a blanket thrown over sin that’s still there.
God can not see our sins because they are covered with the blood of Christ. You or I can never be worthy enough to gain heaven. It is all because of Christ and His sacrifice.
“by Grace alone” “by Faith alone” “In Christ alone” “Glory to God alone”
Scripture alone
- Even if God can’t see our sins, by that reasoning, they’re still there. Nothing unclean can enter heaven, whether God can see it or not.
- How can you be saved by grace alone and also by faith alone. Doesn’t it then mean that you’re either saved by grace or you’re saved by faith, but not both?
All through the Gospels, Christ alludes to the difficulty in obtaining eternal salvation…(camels through needle eyes, narrow doors, etc) Too many Protestants, especially the non-denominational ones want to push the “Easy Button”. ("I believe and I read the Bible, so I’m good-to-go)
Exactly!!
forget, can’t see—same thing
No, it’s not. My keys are under my jacket. They’re still there, even if I can’t see them. I still know they’re there, even though I can’t see them.
I’ve forgotten where I put my favorite pair of earrings. It doesn’t mean they’re gone. It just means I can’t find them. I can’t see them. I can’t find them. I can’t remember where they are. However, they still exist. They’re still in my house somewhere. By your reasoning, the sin’s still there.
Hmm- well, there is no original, at least no one has found it…
Um, actually, there’s no such thing as an “original” Bible that dates back to Jesus’ time. Corinthians, Ephesians, etc were letters written TO the churches they address (the church at Corinth, the church at Ephesus, the church at Rome, etc) written at different times in different places by different people. They were then copied and spread around. The copies were not “originals”, but they said the same thing, so what does it matter? Those copies (and possibly some originals) were later gathered together by the Catholic Church to form what is now known as the Bible.
The seven books were added by the RCC to back up some of their doctrine… even though some scriptures in it contrdicted the other books…
If the Catholic Church was the one who put the Bible together in the first place, why would they then need to add to it to “back up” their doctrine?
Im not supposed to be getting replies since I unsubscrbed. Guess i will just have to not reply and it will die out eventually.
Every time you reply ir subscribes you again.
I will tell you this sir that it is documented that Catholic apologists have actually changed history to prove there argument. Im not going to get into all of that becasue it always proves frutless. Catholics have circular reasoning and it makes it difficult to debate
As you’re so fond of saying, prove it.
Your accusations are false as can be. I got so tired trying to keep with the questions that im giving up answering the same question over and over. I don’t like catholic indulgences.
one of you say James white lost his debates but that is what catholics always say even when they lose. I don’t claim to be an apolgist but I do claim that I trust in Jesus alone.
You haven’t actually answered any questions. You’ve said they’re wrong, but you haven’t said why. That’s the problem with Protestantism. They don’t ever give a
reason, they want you to believe what they believe without backing it up. Yet Catholics can back up every one of their beliefs.
This is actually one of the reasons I finally realized I had to become a Catholic seven years ago - because by the time you make sense of it all, you end up with Catholic theology - so, I figured, why not just
start with Catholic theology, and save a lot of time and hassle?
I’ve believed many of the same things Catholics do for years, but didn’t realize it until I started researching Catholicism. I never could understand why the Protestant churches insisted on believing things based on a twisted interpretation of the Bible instead of what the Bible actually says.
One more question to add to the list for those who believe only in the Bible. How would you then know that Christ even lived? Because it’s in the Bible? How do you know? You know because it’s historically backed up that he lived. Yet, if you discount historical evidence, how do you know? Why should we ignore history? My Western Civ book tells about WWII. Are the personal accounts from people other than the writers of the history books inaccurate simply b/c they’re not in the history book itself? Should I go on only one history book to tell me everything I need to know about WWII?
