I am from one of the holiness churches. I have read that John Wesley prayed the rosary. I was never told this in the Wesleyan churches. I only found out about this after I left the holiness movement.
Martin Luther venerated Mary also. I don’t know why so many Protestants have turned away from Mary in modern times. She is the Mother of God, and she makes intercession for us.

Because they think venerating Mary is idolatry, a concept that many Non-Catholic Christians misunderstood.

Thank you for your replies. I didn’t mean to start a debate. I wanted to know what to know what Catholic think about what I posted. I am a Protestant christian right now that is between churches and is searching. I didn’t mean to offend anyone about the “Hail Mary” prayer. I am learning as much as I can about Mary and tradition. The more I learn the more I understand and like.
You do know that the first part of the Hail Mary prayer comes from the Gospel of St. Luke? and the second petition comes after the Catholic council of Ephesus doctrinated the term “theotokos” Mother of God to the blessed Virgin Mary.
If you would like to get a list of the Early Church Fathers quotes of Marian belief’s some dating as far as 100a.d let me know it is a long list, or pm coolduude he did a great research on Marian quotes from the early centuries.

Peace be with you

Thank you for your reply to my post. I would like the list of what the early church fathers believed and taught on Mary. That would be very helpful,
