Someone needs to tell the Vatican to believe John 14:6

*Someone *needs to listen to what the Vatican is really saying and teaching instead of being so focused on rebelling that they can’t hear properly!

841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”

The Muslim God (Allah) and God the Father are not the same.
Muslims do not acknowledge the true Creator as that statement claims.
Muslims profess the faith of Muhammad… not Adam, not Abraham, not Moses, not David, and not Jesus
Muslims do not adore God.

Declaration of the Muslim faith, By reciting this, one enters Islamic faith

“I bear witness that there is no god, but God; I bear witness that Muhammad is the prophet of God.”
Your assertion that Allah and God the Father are not the same is merely your opinion. Please prove you assertion to be true through the use of verifiable facts.

The quote above, that you yourself provided, bears witness to the inaccuraccy of your stated opinion in that a Muslim (according to the quote above, which I have no idea where it came from) bears witness that there is but one God. That fact is correct, and they do indeed worship the God of Abraham, Issac, and Moses. Just becuase they go astray with thier belief in Muhammad doesn’t make the little of the Truth they have into a lie.
Muslim do adore God: but go astray with thier denial of the Trinity because of thier refusal to acknowledge Jesus’s power and divinity much in the same way that some protestants go atray for the same reason.

They do go astray with their denial in Christ. Except you believe that I’m the Messiah you will die in you sins. No one gets to the Father except through the Son. Various passages make mention to the same thing. Jesus himself said that the Word would be heard throughout the world before the end (end being, who knows?). However Jesus also did say to beware false Christs and prophets in Matthews 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Muhammad claims that he’s the greatest and last prophet of all in the Quran. By doing so, he’s exhaulting himself above Christ. And I don’t believe Muhammad is God.

Muslims believe in ONE god as the creator. They do not believe in God the Son or God the Holy Spirit.

Christians believe in the TRINITY as the creator.

Why is it you must argue even with those who have agreed with you? This tells me that you only read other posts to find something to “Protest”.
If you bother to r-e-a-d you will see that we are in agreement re: Islam.
However, no-one not even Muslims think that Muhammad is God. His claim is a false one (among numerous false claims) and Islam does not have the fullness of the Christian faith.
***Take note. ***I never said that Islam was the way to God nor did I ever state that MUhammad is in any way to be compared with Jesus the Christ. I merly asked you where in the statement from the Vatican can you point out that they said what you say they did, and you have failed to do so!

And what is your point? They do not claim to be Christians! Jews do not acknowledge the Christ or the Trinity; but it is accepted that they know God the Father. Muslims are much in the same boat as their sworn enemy in that they too, believe in the same God as the Jews; yet, refuse the realise that the Son of God has come and redeemed all.
Still, nither you or anyone else has, in any systematic way proven your claim that the statement from the Vatican concerning the Muslims is false. I think you need to apologise for defaming the Church!

to carry this a step further… there are many Christians who believe in God the Father… yet deny the Real Presence. How shaky is the ground they stand on??

I guess if you r-e-a-d, you’d see I wasn’t disagreeing with you. I was only reinforcing scripturally our position regarding the salvation of Muslims according to the catechism for certain people fail to look to the scriptures. They (Catholic Church heirarchy) choose the word of the physical church over that of Jesus.

A further note:
If Jesus is referenced in the Quran, then can we say that they know Jesus, but deny him as the Messiah? They at least are exposed to him. We know the reason why the Jews denied him, (Romans 11:32 regarding the Jews) For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all (gentiles).

Jesus through a Muslim Lens
Jesus is not only central to Christianity; he is also venerated throughout Islam. Christians may be surprised to learn that Muslims believe in the Virgin Birth and Jesus’ miracles. But this shared interest in his message goes much further.

In the Muslim view, Jesus’ essential work was not to replicate bread or to test our credulity, but to complement the legalism of the then original Torah with a leavening compassion rarely expressed in the older testament. His actions and words introduce something new to monotheism: They show the mercy of God.
Jesus confirmed the Torah, stressing the continuity of his lineage, but he also developed the importance of compassion and self-purification as crucial links between learning the words of God’s message and possessing the wisdom to carry it out.
Oddly enough, some of the recent work by New Testament scholars seems to have reached a view of Jesus not all that different from Muslims’. For them, Jesus appears not as a literal son of God in human form, but as an inspired human being, a teacher of wisdom with a talent for love drawn from an unbroken relationship to God. Both versions present him as a man who spoke to common people in universal terms.

So according to the NT, do you think the Muslims will still be saved if they don’t accept Christ? They know him, but still deny him.

We really don’t know, and the Catholic Church teaches that only God really knows who is saved and who is not. None of us can be so presumptuous as to say who is or is not saved. We just need to make sure that we ourselves will be saved.

But Jesus has shown us the way the eternal salvation. But we must hear it, believe it, and live it. This is why we all fall short. And if not for God’s grace, we’d all be a few degrees warmer in the end.

By your own words you have admitted then that one cannot “say the sinners prayer” and be saved once and for all. You yourself state that one must hear and believe and live it.
Living it means that if you fall away any time during your lifetime, you will not achieve salvation. (By achieve, I mean through the merits of Christ and not through any means of our own). This is Catholic thinking…
