?? You are denying that Catholics burned people at the stake for what they considered heresy? There’s a lot of misinformation out there about that period of history, so it isn’t surprising that people would repeat it here.
I don’t think anyone is referring to or cares for that matter what the Catholic church’s take is on the canonability of these folks. Quite frankly, it appears to me like more of an inside conversation amongst us Protestants responding to this thread.Actually, they were apostate Catholics, so they don’t qualify.![]()
No. The Church never burned anyone at the stake. The kings and other officials who did were Catholics. Read some real history.?? You are denying that Catholics burned people at the stake for what they considered heresy?
If no one cares why are you posting?I don’t think anyone is referring to or cares for that matter what the Catholic church’s take is on the canonability of these folks. Quite frankly, it appears to me like more of an inside conversation amongst us Protestants responding to this thread.
Are you trying to make the claim that the Roman church wasn’t the state church in those days? No. The Church never burned anyone at the stake. The kings and other officials who did were Catholics. Read some real history.
No. Go read some history. Are you trying to make the claim that the Roman church wasn’t the state church in those days?
I think you need to go figure out which door you checked your manners and sense at.No. Go read some history.
The Protestants responding never once hinted that the Catholic church would ever canonize those folks for any reason thinkable.No. The Church never burned anyone at the stake. The kings and other officials who did were Catholics. Read some real history.
If no one cares why are you posting? And what “appears” to be to you isn’t necessarily reality here. Many of us are Catholics and many are Protestants. I would think it would please our Protestant brethren that we Catholics recognize the holiness and contributions of Protestants. As it is, the Catholic Church does not presume to canonize Protestants because 1) they are not in union with the Church and 2) Protestants, on the whole, would rather we didn’t. It’s a no win situation with some people, it “appears.”

I think you may be thinking of St John of the Cross’s Crucifix. This was painted by Salvador Dali. Picture on this link. John of the Cross is already a saint.Definately Elizabeth Elliot’s Husband.
Also Lottie Moon.
As far as Catholic, I’m not sure Mother Teresa if she’s not already one. What’s the name of the priest who has a picture of Jesus on the cross looking down at the world? I think its a famous painting. Not sure.
Whatever.I think you need to go figure out which door you checked your manners and sense at.
Yes, Someone did mention her fairly early in the thread.Has anybody mentioned Carrie Ten Boom?
Corrie? Yes. Well, her sister. I would also suggest her Father. Has anyone seen the Hidding place? How about Livingstone?Has anybody mentioned Carrie Ten Boom?
Harumph. I did a “search thread” and nothing came up. Go figure.Yes, Someone did mention her fairly early in the thread.
Peace
