Can you imagine the horror of watching your son go through Calvary? Other than what Jesus endured for our sins, I can’t imagine greater pain. Is it any wonder that we honor her?

It’s not only OK to ask God’s mother to pray for you; it’s ok if you ask my mother to pray for you. Other than honoring her for her dedication to God, the Hail Mary is just asking for her prayers. I seriously doubt that God (or anyone else) should be offended by such a thing.

Storm heaven…pray your head off. I know that you will find the peace that you search for. I know that it works for me. May God bless you.

Well, what do you think? Would it be ok or would it be blasphemous?

Does anyone think it would be offensive to God and the Blessed Virigin if I started praying the rosary? And please tell me what the reasons are for your opinions.

TIA
It would certainly NOT be offensive for you to pray the rosary. Genuine prayer is genuine prayer, and if you feel moved to pray the rosary, please do so! Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. If they do, and you look closely, you’ll see that they lack very basic understanding of Christian, and specifically Catholic, teaching.
However, praying the rosary can be difficult because of the repetition. It might be worthwhile to talk with a Catholic who prays it regularly for some suggestions on how to get the most from it. Good luck!!

For some reason, I’ve lately been feeling the urge to do so. There have been a lot of really life-changing events recently–my 10-year-old niece died of cancer in July, my sister (who is her grandmother) is having a very hard time with it, and I’ve just undergone major surgery and will have to do so again; in fact it looks like my own health is starting to deteriorate and I’m not even 60.

Does anyone think it would be offensive to God and the Blessed Virigin if I started praying the rosary? And please tell me what the reasons are for your opinions.

Hi, no it would not be offensive 🙂 I started praying the Rosary before I became Catholic and it helped me and gave a lot of peace. God bless

rosary-center.org/howto.htm

this is a really good website, at the top there are links for all the different mysteries, and it gives additional meditations for each of the Hail Mary’s… if your mind doesn’t wonder during the Rosary then you might not need this, but if it does - like mine, lol - this helps against distractions 🙂 just wanted to share. God bless!
