Protestant songs in Catholic hymnal book?

You’ve never been in St James’? Oh you HAVE to go in. And keep in mind that was the first Mass I attended on my own. Go to their website and check it out.

I’ll have to park in Outer Narnia, but I want to go to the Easter Vigil there once before I get transferred (I still have about three years up here, so I have a few Easters to go). Just because if our military chapel was so amazing to me, St James’ must be indescribable.

Yikes! The priests here have forbidden us to play of the Luther composed hymns even if they are found in the Hymnal.
There are shaker hymns, and many protestant ones, but re-lyricized for the most part.
I Surrender All is a great hymn, in any church.
 
I have some pics from inside St James but have never been in there in person. I’m only in Seattle 2-3 times a year for appointments.

Oh gosh. That would give me flashbacks. 🤣 It IS beautiful, but at the Baptist church I used to go to with my grandmother when I was small, they’d sing it during altar calls at the end of service.
 
I’ve also thought that “Lord, I’m Coming Home” would be beautiful at the Vigil either before or after the converts profess their faith.
