In a sense we are interconnected and have forefathers/ mothers, but the genesis text contextually has us as the chidren of eve, that is not just in the flesh, but those born in the spirit, believers in the promise, first laid hold of in genesis.i mean we have lineages for a reason
thanks for understanding we are are all the spiritual children of the new Eve Mother Mary Galatians 4:26 But the other woman corresponds to the Jerusalem above; she is free and she is our mother ( MARY). (MOTHER MARY IS SINLESS and Mary retain "perpetual virginity), 27 For it is written, “Rejoice, you childless one, you who bear no children, burst into song and shout, you who endure no birth pangs; for the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than the children of the one who is married

Genesis 3:15 15 I will put enmities between thee(satan) and the woman(Mary), and thy(satan and wicked people ) seed and her seed(Jesus and we Catholic and those who respect and honor her ): she(Mother Mary) shall crush thy(satan) head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her(Mother Mary) heel.

Both Eve and Mary were approached by an angel (with Eve, a fallen angel lucifer ); doubt crept into Eve’s heart, whereas Mary’s faith was steadfast,Pure in fullness (see Luke 1:45). Eve participated in the downfall of the first Adam, just as Mary participates in the victory of her Son, the New Adam (see Luke 2:34-35). In the words of the early Fathers, “the knot of Eve’s disobedience was untied by Mary’s faith.” and because she in union with Jesus in spirit 1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

That doesn’t answer the fact that the men who questioned how Jesus could have such wisdom in Matthew 13 believed James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (and His sisters) to be immediate family (blood brothers and sisters) of Jesus.
It’s not true false claim “Brothers of the Lord Argument” is so old and misunderstood by many as in 1 Cor. 15:6 6 After that,he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters so do you mean Jesus had 500 breathers the same time most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. And so easily refuted. as Lot is referred to as the brother of Abram in the OT. Yet we know he wasn’t his brother but rather Abram’s uncle’s son… The fact is that in ancient Israel they used the term “brother” or “brethren” to refer to blood relations. on another occasion someone tells Jesus that his mother and “brothers” are outside demanding to see Him. Now, since Jesus was first born, these “brothers”, if they really were biological siblings would be younger than Jesus and Hebraic culture would not allow for a younger sibling to demand an older sibling to do anything.

The number is hyperbolic to emphasize the thousands of different denominations. Why do people get so bent out of shape over the precise accuracy of one number? What difference does it make if the number is 26,798 or 40,000?

This tract states that the Catholic Church has ‘242 denominations’!! Um, no. The Catholic Church has 242 ecclesial and liturgical rites within 24 Churches.

Independents: 22,000 denominations
Protestants: 9000 denominations
Marginals: 1600 denominations
Orthodox: 781 denominations
Catholics: 242 denominations
Anglicans: 168 denominations

The Catholic Church does not have denominations; She has Churches and liturgical rites within the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

Those numbers are used by Protestants to try to claim that the Catholic Church is divided like Protestantism.

How many children did God via Gabriel say Elizabeth would have?

A son. Singular again.
Did not know Gabriel would have to announce future sons.Gabriels announcement was true and prophetic…Mary bore “a” son, irregaerdless of any thereafter.

If you pulled it out of your own private cerebral cortex, and used it as a hyperbolic shocker, no problem. Of course, someone else might do the same and say 17,890. Etc.

The point about the 40k lies in the source for the most frequently used number used in this context to emphasize the fissiparous nature of protestantism. Folks who cite it, knowing nothing else about that source, are not using a useful number, and don’t know why. Jharek and I know the source and why, though it’s useful for those who compile it, it is useless in this context.

But, since it’s not intended, in this context, to be anything other than a WAG from your imagination, no problem. Would that other folk would say “I don;t know how many, I’m gonna make up a number I like”.

Me, I’d first ask what the definition of what I was counting might be agreed to be. Then I’d say the number is somewhere between “some” and “a lot more than that”.

No, and that’s the point. The sturdy defines denomination is a particular, idiosyncratic manner, for their own statistical purposes. It definitively and clearly states that that it is an artifact of their statistics and that the RCC is a single unity. And it counts all denominations in the same way, by their definition. Once for every country the “denomination” has a presence in.

I didn’t know so many were offended by the number 40,000. Would tens of thousands work better for you?

The number cannot be substantiated with precision due to the ever-increasing rate.

As long as you claim it as your own invention, based on nothing in particular, unlike some folk who look to an assumed scientific basis, it could be whatever you like. I’d have to define what I was counting, but no matter how that was done, it’s somewhere between “some” and “a whole lot”. Depending on definitions (counting each Southern Baptist Church as a separate denom?). Tens of thousands; could be. Or some other figure.

Those are some great scripture. However, they still do not say that Mary was an ever-virgin and did not have other children.
Just as the word Holy Trinity in not mentioned in the Bible, the word ever-virgin will not be in the Bible but that does not mean they are not there, but rather mentioned in the whole Bible right from the Book of Genesis to Revelations it is written about the Holy Trinity and the Blessed Virgin Mary ever virgin. **Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel. Revelation 21:27 But nothing unclean will enter Heaven, nor anyone who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life. But when Jesus is born she had to be without Original Sin a pure vessel to contain Jesus in the womb… Lord Jesus (GOD) had to be born in a women who is sinless. Song of Solomon 4:12 A garden locked is my sister, my bride,a garden locked, a fountain sealed. Song of Solomon 6:9 My dove(Mary), my perfect one, is only one, the darling of her mother, flawless (sinless) to her that bore her. The maidens saw her and called her happy; the queens and concubines also, and they praised her. Song of Solomon 6:4 You (Mary) are beautiful as Tirzah, my love, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners. Song of Solomon 6:10 “Who is this (Mary)that looks forth like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army with banners?” Said by the Angles who were all in Awe of Mary a when they seen her in the Empyrean Heaven and acclaimed so
If you read the entire passage of Galatians 4:21-31 you will see Paul is comparing the descendants of Hagar with the decedents of Sarah. Galatians 4:26 isn’t talking about Mary it is talking about Sarah.
**No, its about Mary ,yes thanks for understanding partly which, St Paul said, if it not Jerusalem as Mary then there is no son as Jesus in this Chapter which is unlikely and false ,Paul is also mentioning Mary as the the new Sarahy the New Eve Galatians 4:4-6 But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent his Son(Jesus ), made of a woman, made under the law:5 That he might redeem them who were under the law: that we might receive the adoption of sons. Galatians 4:26 But the other woman corresponds to the Jerusalem above; she is free and she is our mother ( MARY).

(MOTHER MARY IS SINLESS and Mary retain "perpetual virginity), 27 For it is written, “Rejoice, you childless one, you who bear no children, burst into song and shout, you who endure no birth pangs; for the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than the children of the one who is married**

sirach 24:18 I am the mother (Mary)of beautiful love, of fear, of knowledge, and of holy hope; being eternal, I therefore am given to all my children (Gen 3:15), to those who are named by him(Jesus).

I used to be a Baptist and I remember one day during a sermon he said, “We don’t worship Mary.” As an LDS member now who’s studying the Catholic church, I remember this because it was after my brother’s baptism there and my very close Catholic friend had attended as well. When I was a Baptist, I don’t remember there being much talk about Mary and I heard many misconceptions about the Catholic church from other members when I still was a member there.

Assumes you know a number and a rate. Don’t go there. It’s a lot, trending toward a whole lot.

You are cool presenting it from here on as your own invention but keep in mind the Commandment not to bear false witness your neighbor.
There are tens of thousands of Protestant denominations and that is a fact.
