An interesting observation…In a nutshell I explain reason’s why I would have to agree with you at one time. I grew up in the Catholic church, fell away for a LONG time, found Christ, hated Catholics and the church, but with God’s probing and pushing I dived into study and prayer. After a time I come to see the catholic church as the church God established and she holds strong to truths today. I agree that many men might seem to be spineless, and week and wimpy. There are two sides to this. One I see many men that don’t have the faith in Christ, they just go through the motions, they say they believe but have no convictions to back up their beliefs. I can see where a man of faith in another denomination would see this man as having no “backbone”, being led around like a poodle on a leash. On the other side you have catholic men of great faith and very knowledgeable of our salvation history and of scripture. These men may seem “week and wimpy”, but if you knew them, you would see men of strong moral ethics, kind, loving and forgiving(which is what Christ commands us to do, imitate him). Others have portrayed Christ as also being wimpy and week, just look at some of the art work out there that paints Him as this. Don’t mistake his sad looks as being weak, this is his compassion for us, and in his love and compassion he defeated Satan for our sake. Strong catholic men of faith are prayer warriors, a living example for others to follow. This to others they may come off as weak wimpy, but they are full of God’s grace and love and sacrifice themselves and fight for there loved ones souls. I know this to be, because my grandfather was one. He was one who always spoke the truth, prayed unceasingly and shrived to know Jesus more. He is my earthly Christian role model. I could only hope to be as strong and steadfast as him. To love and show compassion for others, to lead others to Christ. It takes a strong man to do this. Weak and wimpy? NO WAY!!!
