Is there a site for all Protestants to list all the things that they believe and being taught? I just need to know in order to explain my believe better to my own brother and sister who are not Catholic.

As far as I know, to find out what a protestant believes on a particular thing other than ‘Sola Scriptura’, I first need to know what he considers himself - a Baptist, a Lutheran, etc …

BTW, I have been reading other posts where many people have come back Home after 20 years, 30 years, even 40 years. God gives me hope that it will happen to my brother and sister.

Thanks!

Hey Water!

It would be really nice if what you are looking for was actually available, but the fact is that every site you run across claims that theirs is the orthodox Christian doctrine, when in fact you cannot find any matching sets of doctrines unless they copy from each other and even then, because of Sola Scriptura, and the fact that they all claim equal authority to read the Bible and define doctrine. They then expect you to read the Bible, exercise that same authority and come up with the same beliefs that they do, and if you don’t then you are the one that’s all messed up.

Make any sense?
Pax tecum,

you made sense to me, but they don’t.
I guess I could learn what non-Catholics believe by being here at CAF then.

Many protestants (such as myself) believe in the autonomy of the local church. Ask the specific church for a doctrinal statement (or check their website) it will usually list out their beliefs with Scriptural support.

Thanks Timmy. That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure about if there was any centralized website.

At the very end of the Gospel according to St John he says:
Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
In contrast to this, regarding protestantism it could be said:
In regards to getting a unified answer from Protestants if every one of their doctrines and variations were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

Well if you are interested in the views of the old large protestant denominations (prebyterian, lutheran, methodist etc…), they have centralized views found in their confessions of faith (ausburg, westminster, etc…).

You can find the westminster confession here:

Yes, I remember this part and it is the reasons why there are things that we don’t know and there are things that we are getting to know better.

This is good, Tim. I think this is enough for me to get many information from.

Thanks for your help!
