The Pope, as vicar, is an agent of Christ. It doesn’t make him impeccable, but it does make him infallible when speaking on matters of faith and morals.

An unsavory person as Pope doesn’t disqualify the Church as having authority.

Peter denied him 3 times, judas betrayed him, 9 fled when he was seized, paul held the cloak while they stoned stephen. How do you reconcile these unsvaory apostles with the Gospel Jesus gave us?

Before I answer you, please tell me what the word vicar means in regards to the Pope.
