Does anyone else think that paralells could be drawn between some of our separated Protestant brethren and the disciples who left Jesus over the Eucharist?
Protestants, feel free to weigh in- Please know I mean no insult or disrespect

When you don’t have the Eucharist, it’s hard to believe in It; at least in the words of ‘flesh and blood’.

Then how do you explain the BoLD? Every other time Jesus speaks in parables in the Gospels, he later explains himself. Here, he does not.

I don’t think they dispute this passage. I think they probably believe that it happened once in history and cannot be repeated. Once and done. Like everything else.
If they accepted this, then they would necessarily have to accept Papal succession and the legitimacy of the Apostles as the first priests. Then not just anyone “with a calling” could be a minister. They’d have to be ordained Catholic.
