Hello to all of my Protestant brethren in Christ!
I was just wondering, does your church have a service on Thursday to celebrate the institution of The Lordās Supper or not? Please vote in my poll and discuss.

I take it that you are no longer wavering.Had to vote quickly. My protest ends in 2 days.
Odd, isnāt it? Do you hear " if we have it too often, it wonāt mean as much"? :whacky:My parish most definitely had a Maunday Thursday worship service, including the Eucharist. Although I found it odd that the sermon focused on how important the Eucharist is but our congregation practices bi-weekly Communion for a given worship time.
Considering some of the sermons Iāve had to endure over the years, I think it would be much more beneficial if we only had a sermon once every other week.Odd, isnāt it? Do you hear " if we have it too often, it wonāt mean as much"? :whacky:

You and I know very well thatās a smoke screen excuse. The REAL reason is that it adds an extra 15 minutes to the worship service!Odd, isnāt it? Do you hear " if we have it too often, it wonāt mean as much"? :whacky:

I just joined our board of elders. In a recent meeting, that is the way I responded to this mindset, expressed by another elder. I said that, perhaps we should eliminate the sermon every other week, so it wonāt lose its meaning.Considering some of the sermons Iāve had to endure over the years, I think it would be much more beneficial if we only had a sermon once every other week.
That, and we certainly donāt want to appear too Catholic. You and I know very well thatās a smoke screen excuse. The REAL reason is that it adds an extra 15 minutes to the worship service!
