I certainly didn’t count 2000, but that’s not the point. Your different groups in large part are Lutheran churches by nationality, so your charge is that we have a different polity than the Catholic Church. So what? All that proves is we are less hierarchical, and it really proves nothing.

What an uncharitible comment. I’m sorry you were subjected to that. There is nothing stupid about the Thoetokos.

Protestant churches including the Lutheran groups consider themselves branches of Christianity IMHO they are simular to Polyporus annosus. Click On: Polyporus Annosus

God Bless everyone! Be sure to respect everyone’s opinions even if we should disagree with one another. God loves us all and we are to love each other.
YOU have a lot of nerve calling on others to “respect everyone’s opinions”, when you have just compared “protestants” to parasitic plants, and said that non-RCs aren’t really Christians (something which even the RC church disagrees
so because you disagree with the RC church, that means you’re a heretic, by your own definition!).

I certainly didn’t count 2000, but that’s not the point.

Hi Jon, 👋

You didn’t because you didn’t do your part. You were to google each group and see how many sub denominations, and various associations, conferences, conventions, communions, fellowships, groups, sect, cults, unions, socials and pot lucks were under their individual umbrella. It would be more than 2,200 which was the truth I stated and that you challenged!

Your different groups in large part are Lutheran churches by nationality, so your charge is that we have a different polity than the Catholic Church.

**They aren’t “my groups” they are different denominations of Lutherans. And guess what many of them are not identified or recognize as being really Lutheran by each other. How precious is that. I could go start my own church and call it the New Lutheran Church of Texas and be just as official as any other counterfeit group. What yuo didn’t seem to understand is that " My charge" is that you are all counterfeit copies of Jesus’ real church. 👍 **

So what?

**Well, Jesus made one church 2,000 years ago, your church isn’t following His teachings because you “protested” against His real church. You turned your back on Jesus. That, my friend, is So what! **

All that proves is we are less hierarchical, and it really proves nothing.

**It proves that you aren’t Jesus real church but an imitation group It proves that you may follow each other or some of what Jesustaught. It proves that when you don’t like something you break away and start another false religion. It proves that Satan is alive and well and continues to corrupt groups who mistakenly believe they are following Jesus when in fact they aren’t. It proves that I am correct and so is the teachings of the catholic chuirch which is 2,000 years old and holding onto the original beliefs of Jesus and His followers. 👍 **

Bless you for your humor.

**Humor is one of the things that can stop hate. Prayer is the other! When we laugh together, we can’t hate each other can we?When we pary together we can’t hate each other
 And besides, I really can’t whistle! 😊 **

Rachel rightly encourages our charity and get back on track:

To answer, again, your first question: It is yes, the scripture does support the real presence.

**Yes, but it is only the real church which has it! The scriptures support that also! The scriptures were written 2,000 years ago. They only started to become distorted and corrupt 500 years ago, and we both know who started that! **

Wasn’t my job to prove your point.
What yuo didn’t seem to understand is that " My charge" is that you are all counterfeit copies of Jesus’ real church.
You are, of course, welcome to your opinion.
Well, Jesus made one church 2,000 years ago, your church isn’t following His teachings because you “protested” against His real church. You turned your back on Jesus. That, my friend, is So what!
That is not what the CCC says, but you are,of course, welcome to your personal interpretation.
Actually she was here to check out a complaint. I was found not guilty! Sometimes people misread what is said. I , personally, never violate the TOS. I say things that are hard to listen to if you aren’t a real believer. But I have a right to my beliefs as you do yours and I am allowed to state my beliefs. The complaint was not mine. I was and am willing to tell you without the assistance of others that some of your words are harsh, uncharitible, are quite comparable to the words of some anti-catholics, one of which I mentioned.
Yes, but it is only the real church which has it! The scriptures support that also! The scriptures were written 2,000 years ago. They only started to become distorted and corrupt 500 years ago, and we both know who started that!
Hmm. Surprised you didn’t say 1,000 years ago.
Lets pray for one another, God loves all of us.His son, Jesus came down and died for each of us!
On this we certainly can agree. Perhaps without polemics, we could find more.

**YOU have a lot of nerve calling on others to “respect everyone’s opinions”, **
**
Hi Lutheran, 👋

Take a deep breath! Hold it
Let it out! OK!
 again
! Now do you feel better? Please understand. We “can’t” agree! If we did you would become a Catholic.Your religion started 1,500 years too late. You can not “become” the real church of Jesus’ be just saying you are! Jesus made that decision not Luther Calvin or JohnSmith, or Ellen G. White, or any other Heretic.**

**When you have just compared “protestants” to parasitic plants, **

** I respect your opinion, which although, unstated, I must believe would be that you don’t agree with my parasitic plant analogy, correct? Please, remember that a analogy isn’t the same thing as being the same thing. 😃 However, I can’t consider you a part of the "real church! God didn’t design the Body of Christ to have a uncontrolled growth, multiplying and dividing and spreading. Hmmm,:hmmm: What analogy would be good to use to describe that process on a Human body? Anyway if you compare the church to a tree, Protestant groups aren’t branches are they? They don’t “belong” to the Tree. With what else could you really compare them? I am open to suggestions. The parasitic plants seem reasonable to me because IMHO they are attempting to kill Jesus’ real church! Maybe I am wrong, but it is MHO which I am entitled to possess, don’t I? Just like you can think I am wrong. That doesn’t make me angry! You don’t have to agree with my opinion but please respect my right to have it! **

and said that non-RCs aren’t really Christians (something which even the RC church disagrees

**You actuallyy don’t know much about Jesus’ real church do you? I seem to know a bunch more about your counterfeit groups than you guys know about Jesus’ real church. Perhaps that is why you don’t see the truth?
I know that I am not the smartest person here. Some of you seem to be so much more educated than I could ever become. This often confuses me with the ignorant statements I often read.

Click on: Read and Believe**
Basically, issued on 10 July 2007, "The new 16-page document, approved by the Pope, said that the Orthodox church suffers from a “wound” because it did not recognise the primacy of the Pope. The wound was “still more profound” in Protestant denominations, it added. It was “difficult to see how the title of ‘Church’ could possibly be attributed to them”, said the statement from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Roman Catholicism was “the one true Church of Christ”.
The language echoes earlier statements by the same body, headed by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger until he became Pope. "

Only in your mind, my friend, only in your mind! The same place you get the idea you are following Jesus when Satan bids you to “come follow me!”

Lets pray for one another. Prayer and understand can stop hate. I have nothing but love in my heart for all God’s children. I want you to be saved. Jesus died so that you and I could enjoy eternal life. I beg you do not throw His gift away!

[SIGN]Realcatholic:D [/SIGN] I herd the Catholic church has been reduced to a remnant,as predicted in a situation similar to the Arian crisis,is that true? Also it’s not nice to be pregidest you know that started slavery, and Jesus said you cannot be a slave to two masters:rolleyes: “You can change the frame but you can never change the picture” God is good: Nancy:)

Hi Jon, 👋
Of course the Bible supports the real presence! 👍
**
**
Wasn’t my job to prove your point.

** And it isn’t my job to have to teach you about your Lutheran groups and how they are organized! Or should that be disorganized? I Should be able to rebut anything you said about my religion. I would never ask you to do my job and teach me about my religion. You do now realize that there really are 2,500 or more Lutheran groups don’t you? Not all agreeing that the others are really Lutheran! That is a fact! but it would have to be another Thread! 😃 **

You are, of course, welcome to your opinion.

**I thank you for that! However, It is also my churches opinion! As far as religion goes I have Faith that The Catholic church teaches the truth, I don’t have to make personal interpretations. They lead to false beliefs. e.g. Protestant groups! ** 👍

That is not what the CCC says, but you are,of course, welcome to your personal interpretation.

**Actually it is what the RC believes and teaches. It is the church’s intewrpretation:

Click on: The Pope speaks**

it is also Jesus’ opinion: “He who hears you (Peter) hears me, and he who rejects you, rejects me, and he who rejects me, rejects him who sent me "~ Luke 10:16 Could that be any clearer? Protestant who rejects His Church rejects Christ himself, and should not be considered “Christians” [meaning followers of Christ].

Didn’t Jesus establish one Church with a single head? “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” ~ Matt 16:19 Wasn’t that 2,000 years ago? Who gave away the authority that Jesus gave His church? Answer: No one!

The complaint was not mine. I was and am willing to tell you without the assistance of others that some of your words are harsh, uncharitible, are quite comparable to the words of some anti-catholics, one of which I mentioned.

** If they seem that way I apologize. I never attack another person. You can follow all my posts on all the threads. I only speak the truth. Many people can’t stand the truth. They attack me personally in anger. They read things I never say into what I do say. They interpret my words falsely like they do the bible and wonder why I think they need the real church to teach them the truth!
People are allowed to have their personal beliefs, just like I am. If I am unable to defend my faith and my church’s teachings, then I must not have any Faith to defend!
My words, I would have to agree are sometimes blunt. But believe me they are not meant to be as harsh as they sometimes appear. I say what I can, in the words that I know, to express what I must express. I admit that I am not as educated or smart as any of you other people.
If you can think of a better way for me to explain that you are following Satan, in his counterfeit churches, please let me know how! You could help me save souls! jesus would be so happy I am sure.
As I see it, it would be uncharitiable for me not to attempt to save your soul! Nothing I say is ever said in hate of a person. Nothing I say is ever meant to hurt a person’s feelings. I say the truth the best I can to awaken people to the truth. IMHO that is being Christ like! Remember He was the most perfect man ever born and they hung Him from a cross! I am a sinner, not even worthly to say His Holy name without His saving grace so why would I expect better treatment then He received for speaking His truth?**

Hmm. Surprised you didn’t say 1,000 years ago.

**

Why? He asks

Actually, It was 1958 - 1884 years ago

51-125 New Testament books written.

1442 Council of Florence: The entire Church recognized the 27 books. This council confirmed the Roman Catholic Canon of the Bible published a thousand years earlier. So, by 1439, all orthodox branches of the Church were legally bound to the same canon.

1536 In his corrupted translation of the Bible from Greek into German, Luther without any legal authority removed 4 NT books (Hebrews, James, Jude, and Revelation) and placed them in an appendix saying they were less than canonical.

1546 At the Council of Trent, the Catholic Church reaffirmed once and for all the full list of 27 books. The council also confirmed the inclusion of the Deuterocanonical books which had been a part of the Bible canon since the early Church and was confirmed at the councils of 373, 393, 787 and 1442 AD. At Trent Rome actually dogmatized the canon, making it more than a matter of canon law, which had been the case up to that point.**

On this we certainly can agree. Perhaps without polemics, we could find more.

**We can always try! 👍 Especially if it will help you learn to reject Satan and follow Jesus’ true church!
*

God Bless

Hello Realcatholic, I would like your honest opinion on your churches teachings on 1John:5 read it please. Thank You in love of Christ Nancy:)

[SIGN]Realcatholic:D [/SIGN] I heard the Catholic church has been reduced to a remnant, as predicted in a situation similar to the Arian crisis, is that true?

Hi nancy, 👋

I corrected some spelling errors, however, it actually didn’t help very much! :o

Reference Catholic Church being reduced to a remnant: FALSE
Catholicism - 1.2 billion
Protestantism - 699 million[3]
Eastern Orthodoxy - 260 million
Oriental Orthodox Church - 81 million
Anglicanism - 77 million
Nontrinitarianism - 36 million
Nestorianism - 1 million

I agree, we should never be prejudice against anyone. I have been to too many countries and know that God is universal. Some of my relatives are Buddist, some are Protestants, I love them all. But, we also should not allow people to be fooled or mislead by Satan! I must speak the truth! “I’m not going to hell for anybody!” ~ Fr John Corapi
Several years ago, I and other "christians’ in this area stood guard at a Muslem mosque. Last year, a Baptist church was being vandalized, I went and help my friends guard the place and make repairs. That is the humane thing for christians to do.
The “slave to two masters” remark, did that have anything to do with your slavery remark? “No servant can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” ~ Luke 16:13

“In the end, forever, you and I will be in Heaven or Hell. Period.” ~ Fr John Corapi

“Jesus taught orally, He did not write a book.”~ Fr John Corapi

God Indeed is good! 👍

God Bless**

Go to Sacred Scripture, you will find a post that discusses 1John:5 Salvation and how they know it goes against their rules but they would rather deny the Holy Scriptures and may be even drop them all together than admit their wrong Sorry that is sacraligeous,I could never join a church that beleives in man,and denys the Lord. I guess the end is near (strange doctrines) Nancy

Hello Realcatholic, I would like your honest opinion on your churches teachings on 1John:5 read it please. Thank You in love of Christ Nancy

**Hi nancy, 👋

Sorry my dear, I am not an apologetics, nor a teacher of my church. I can’t answer things like that and you might not like my personal honest opinion but it wouldn’t have anything to do with the OP. I know it well, Why did you ask?

Click on: What Catholic church teaches on 1John:5**

Scripture Must be Interpreted in Light of Catholic Church Tradition
“Those, therefore, who desert the preaching of the Church, call in question the knowledge of the holy presbyters, not taking into consideration of how much greater consequence is a religious man, even in a private station, than a blasphemous and impudent sophist. Now, such are all the heretics, and those who imagine that they have hit upon something more beyond the truth, so that by following those things already mentioned, proceeding on their way variously, in harmoniously, and foolishly, not keeping always to the same opinions with regard to the same things, as blind men are led by the blind, they shall deservedly fall into the ditch of ignorance lying in their path, ever seeking and never finding out the truth. It behooves us, therefore, to avoid their doctrines, and to take careful heed lest we suffer any injury from them; but to flee to the Church, and be brought up in her bosom, and be nourished with the Lord’s Scriptures." Irenaeus, Against Heresies, 5,20:2 (A.D. 180).

"Since this is the case, in order that the truth may be adjudged to belong to us, “as many as walk according to the rule,” which the church has handed down from the apostles, the apostles from Christ, and Christ from God, the reason of our position is clear, when it determines that heretics ought not to be allowed to challenge an appeal to the Scriptures, since we, without the Scriptures, prove that they have nothing to do with the Scriptures. For as they are heretics, they cannot be true Christians, because it is not from Christ that they get that which they pursue of their own mere choice, and from the pursuit incur and admit the name of heretics. Thus, not being Christians, they have acquired no right to the Christian Scriptures; and it may be very fairly said to them, “Who are you? When and whence did you come?” Tertullian, Prescription against the Heretics, 37 (A.D. 200).

“Now the cause, in all the points previously enumerated, of the false opinions, and of the impious statements or ignorant assertions about God, appears to be nothing else than the not understanding the Scripture according to its spiritual meaning, but the interpretation of it agreeably to the mere letter. And therefore, to those who believe that the sacred books are not the compositions of men, but that they were composed by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, agreeably to the will of the Father of all things through Jesus Christ, and that they have come down to us, we must point out the ways (of interpreting them) which appear (correct) to us, who cling to the standard of the heavenly Church of Jesus Christ according to the succession of the apostles.” Origen, First Principles, 4,1:9 (A.D. 230).

This is what I believe about Protestant’s belief in their ability to learn about the true presence in the scriptures!.

God Bless

Hello Realcatholic, I would like your honest opinion on your churches teachings on 1John:5 read it please. Thank You in love of Christ Nancy:)
1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3This is love for God: **to obey **his commands.

2002 God’s free initiative demands man’s free response, for God has created man in his image by conferring on him, along with freedom, the power to know him and love him. The soul only enters freely into the communion of love. God immediately touches and directly moves the heart of man. He has placed in man a longing for truth and goodness that only he can satisfy. The promises of “eternal life” respond, beyond all hope, to this desire:
