do you really want me to answer some of those questions?

if you look at how all the apostles wrote in their letters it was all on scripture which at that time was what we know as the old testament, the torah. they did not waver for they stood on the foundation of Truth.
What:eek: The Apostles taught by word of mouth. The Bible wasn’t even written until hundreds of years after Christ. The Apostles taught us the N.T. That is what Jesus told them to do.

david i know what it is, we just have a different view on it. you quote mark on belief and baptism that is what you believe so be it doesn’t make you right now does it?
Those are not my words.

Those are the words of Jesus Christ.

Way to keep dodging the questions, my angry friend . . .

Which church do you belong to?
Why “ain’t” the Pope holy?
IMHO, Jerry is struggling as he works out his faith. Let’s be patient with him.

I agree and I’ll try to b gentle and patient.
BUT - it sounds like he’s an adult and if he continues to make such unfounded remarks, he needs to be held accountable.

He’s going to different threads and asking different Catholics the same question: “How am I saved?”

I think that once he gets the same answer enough times, and looks at his Bible, it will sink in. 🙂

Wayneleyds: 1 shouldnt find similarities in our actions with pagans but should seek to see to whom we give praise!!jesus Christ!!and our lady in her aparations does not preach a different jesus or another gospel but pleads with human kind to listen to her son.and to give us his messages.

Did you miss the scriptures I quoted about Mary?

Could you give me some feedback on that?

Because truthfully, I believe the majority of the catholic church has fallen into maryworship and is in denial about it.

It all started when you proclaimed her queen of Heaven when nowhere’s does it indicate any such thing about her. And when you made her evervirgin when the scriptures clearly teach, she wasn’t. And when you delcared her assumed into heaven without dying.

Did you forget that, that’s where you go when you die in Christ??? So pointing to the revelations scripture of her being in heaven, therefore, she must have ascended, is unbiblical. For that is where we go when our bodies die.
we do not worship mary she is not divine she is not a god.she has no power except that which is her son Jesus. the scripture does does not implicate mary in anyway that she was or wasnt a virgin clearly.(we can both argue from scripture)
did Christian history end with jesus or the opostles?not everything thar has occurred in the Church is recorded in the bible.the bible was fomed primarily for the propogation of jesus Christ to the world.in was not formed as an account of every thing that occurred!!
if mary is the mother of jesus who is also God who is King of heaven is she not rightly called Queen of heaven?
and are you saying that the hundreds of people who have seen mary over the centuries are all lying about what they have witnessed?are you saying that what mary tells us is of the devil?how can satan decieve us by saying that we must listen to jesus?surely this does not make sense!
and in any case catholics are not forced to pray or acknowledge mary as queen or mother but it is a matter of faith.
and please read revelations chapter 12 clearly states that a woman clothed with the sun with 12 stars for a crown was to give birth to a son who was to rule all nations…
if she is crowned surely she is a queen?and if the stars are the opostles surely she is the queen of the very foundations of the church!!

I am still waiting for you to tell us where the Bible:

  1. *]Teaches that Mary is NOT Queen of Heaven
*]Teaches that Mary is NOT ever-virgin
*]Teaches that Mary was NOT raptured

I predict that you aren’t going to find a thing. Sorry. 😛 But searching the Scriptures will start you on your journey home.

Oh, and I would also like to hear your answer to the Orthodox Churches and their hyperdulia of the Theotokos.

And while you’re at it, could I have a pony too? 😃

oh such foolishness but sera, sera.
As a former Catholic in which you were, then you did follow the pope. To follow him before and now to say he isn’t holy? That is the dumbest thing I’ve heard on these forums to date. The pope is the pope BECAUSE of his holiness, just as Jesus was holy.

Alwaysforhim: Here is what Luther, Calvin and Zwingli had to say to defend Mary as Ever-Virgin:

Do you think I follow a man or religion? Only the word of God AND the teachings of the first popes and any other that do not conflict with their correct interpretations.

But I have to be amazed how you feel you can quote these men of error as though what they think on the matter should make it so, given you call them heretics.

It would seem that you have done so because it served your purpose. If they had interpreted anything different from what you believe, you would have said, they can’t know and now, you act as though they can.

Perhaps you thought I was faithful to the protestant movement? I am not. I was born and raised Catholic.

I have pulled away from my church because of the traditions taught as doctrine concerning such things.

I am in excommunication for choosing to follow the scriptures that they taught over their traditions.

For not believing in something that has been made up for the sake of what???

For this I have lost my salvation.

Because I will not and do not embrace the doctrines taught about Mary.

I supposed I could have just went along and kept my mouth shut. But the idolatry is very prevelant and the church is very quiet about it.

My church is defiled and she refused to be clean.

But who am I? But a mere small member of the body of Christ. To the church, I have lost salvation though I have committed no sin against Christ’s teachings.

But just like Jesus said, 'the sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath, and God desires mercy, not sacrifice…when we place traditions and man made doctrines ahead of the Word or equal to it, and condemn those who do not believe them or embrace them, have you not become as the scribes and pharisees?

Jesus was the first rebel against the church of that day. But really, He wasn’t, He was simply rebelling against the doctrines and teachings that they taught which did nullify God’s word WHICH DO YOURS when I am condemned for not embracing doctrines that Christ never spoke of.

Alwaysforhim: When we honor Mary, we honor Jesus who gave Mary her privileges.

According to Jesus words, He gave ALL who belong to Him, (which Mary did as His disciple) the same priveleges and gifts.

He is not a respector of persons. That is why He said, to MAKE IT CLEAR TO THEM BACK THEN, that “who are my mother, my brothers, my sister? Those who obey me are my mother, brother and sister.”

Do you see? If there were to be special treatment of His mother, don’t you think He wouldn’t have said this?

NOWHERE again, does your doctrine that teaches, He gave special privileges to Mary EXIST in the Holy Words of your God and your first Popes. IN FACT, THE OPPOSITE IS TAUGHT AS YOU SHOULD SEE FROM THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE.

But do you have ears to hear?

**Alwaysforhim: **The Bible never places Mary in opposition to Jesus, nor does the Catholic Church

Did I ever say that the Bible or the church placed Mary in opposition to Jesus?

No.

But neither does the bible place her where you have.

Co-redemptrix.

Now, suddenly, we don’t go to God through Jesus for anything, it seems that the Catholic church has SOMEHOW determined that MARY is not the mediator between Jesus and man.

That all the blessings and gifts of Christ are to be distributed THROUGH MARY now.

How unbiblical can you get?

If any other religion came up with the stuff I see in my church, you would laugh at how absurd such conclusions were made.

Our church is not exempt from error and IS NOT infallible. Another made up doctrine that allows you to insert anything that they want.

We didn’t ask you to rant. We asked you to substantiate your position with Scripture. What above scripture are you referring to? Book, chapter, verse?

Who is that woman in Rev. 12?

You do believe in the Bible, right? Otherwise you need to change your name to “nonchristian1.”

Davidcatechumen: Obviously you are not obeying the oral tradition of the Apostles, seeing as you have a problem with the Blessed Mother and the disciples of the Apostles did not.

I DO NOT have a problem with Mary. I honor Mary in her position in the body. She is MY SISTER, in Christ. I have a problem with my church making claims that DO NOT EXIST IN THE LEAST in the Word of God and the letters of our first popes concerning her and making DOCTRINES about it on top if it!

Alwaysforhim: All three Reformers believed it and took it with them through the Reformation. Why has this been purged from Protestant teaching in the last 500 years?

???As I said before. I am not a student of the protestant religion, but of the Inspipred Word of God and the first Church Fathers.

Elevating Mary the way that you have done has brought ONLY TROUBLE.

The Word of God says that she would be honored and remembered as blessed for her position as mother of the Christ. And she is!
But you are turning it into MORE than that.
Now she is co-redemptrix! Now she is in charge of distributing all the gifts available to the believer!

This is IN OPPOSITION to what the Word reveals about her and yet it continues. But Christ IS going to purge His church.

Visions and revelations that have led these antiscriptural doctrines have been inspired by Satan, who COMES AS AN ANGEL OF LIGHT, to DECIEVE. That is why we should test every spirit against the Holy Word of God and the disciples.

Your inability to cite the Bible for your appeal to fear is very telling.

Davidcatechumen: You admitted that your position is not Biblical. Good! This is progress.

Are you playing dumb with me?

I never admitted my position was not biblical. I said my position is NOT SOLA SCRIPTURA.

Try to not play games about this, it’s serious to me.

Elevated Mary. What about what the bible says. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
