Protestants receiving Catholic Holy Communion

The picture is of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Many Catholics have a devotion to the Heart of Jesus, which symbolises His love. It is pictured surrounded by flames because His love manifested itself most clearly in His suffering and death. If you find the fact that He suffered and died out of love for us creepy, then I don’t know what to say. Hardly very Christlike of you to be criticising my choice of artwork - if you’re trying to win me over to anything.

As for the sacraments, including the Eucharist. We’re not all alike in authority. Christ didn’t send all his disciples out to preach and teach, only the 72. Neither were they all present at the Last Supper, receivinng the commission to ‘do this’ - only the Twelve. True, Christ is present in and with all who sincerely believe in Him, but that still doesn’t mean all have the same authority or powers.

And the priest may not make an announcement in Mass, but the Missals provided (to help you follow along with the prayers of the Mass) DO state clearly who may and may not receive the Eucharist.

Even so, really it’s irrelevant whether they do or not. You wouldn’t go to a foreign country without finding out a little about what behaviour is expected of you when you meet someone or dine with them, nor to (say) a mosque or a Buddhist temple without again finding out what you’re supposed to do and not do.
Sorry for not liking your artwork, but frankly, I have read a number of comments about various items purchased off of the TV by Protestants etc that were pretty insulting, and rightly so. I would perhaps been politer , but am a little bit disgusted by the words and tone of Lilym and others here. I came in inquiry, and was harshly treated. How would you like to be treated?

I’ve heard Catholics complain for decades about how they’re treated by Protestants. I’ve worked closely with Catholics as did my father before me. The ones I dealt with were Christlike.I come here and well, I could have said worse things than I’ve already said. i thought that the goal was to promote and celebrate what makes us Christians and work out the differences. If not what’s the purpose of this whole board? I like that you have strength and tradition. Most of all I like that a lot of Christians go to your House unlike a lot of “The Chosen Frozen”. But don’t make the mistake of thinking that all Christians go to the RCC, and if a Christian isn’t welcome in a RC establishment, there’s something wrong.

The opposition was not to Christ or the Church if you will recall but to Church error. Luther didn’t quit, he was fired.
Untrue, He was officially invited back at least three time after any abuses were addressed. But he refused the invitation preferring the place he was at.

Their invitations back weren’t what they might have been. He was welcome back if he recanted.

Jesus was a rebel to the Jewish Church. The Pharisees had tradition and church authority on their side. Christ chose the truth and paid the ultimate price. The Jews still claim that they were correct; the church has never moved on.

I said that your picture was creepy not you. You have been especially offensive and personal in previous remarks. I do no one any service, especially yourself by not pointing this out.
If you have read this part of my post.

What kind of Christian is to call a fellow CAF members is very creepy?
You called the picture from LilyM creepy. I do get offended by Non-Catholic Christians when they **distort our common **Catholic belief or ridicule it.

I just think you should have* use words that are more respectful *to our faith. Remember, Mark, you are in a Catholic Forum. I suppose you want to know what we Catholic believe with an open mind.

This forum isn’t a Protestant Forum. Protestants are welcome here but they must be respectful to the faith of the Catholics in this forum.

Difference being that Jesus is God-as-a-man, and when that type of man establishes a Church or organization and when He says it will last from that point until the end of time, then you can take His word for it.
Jesus will not return again in the form of Luther or anyone else, for that matter, to re-establish His Church . He told you you would not see Him again until the end of the world…so stick to the organization He founded, it will not fail…🙂

Wouldnt it be a good thing a Protestant receiving hc? Mayb letting Jesus physically getting into there body help them see the real light of the Catholic Church

Would you give your daughter to a cannibal, maybe better to make them understand she is’nt dinner first…🤷

Do you remember the part in the Bible where Jesus warns of pointing out specks in others’ eyes while ignoring beams in your own? If not, you might consider rereading it.

This forum is built around Catholic Apoligetics, Man. If you want to exclude Non Catholics, well, it’s your forum, but I thought that this was your chance to reach out and convert the rest of the Christian world? You feel free to insultingly say a lot of things about non-RC’s, but when I think that ONE piece of “art” is in poor taste you go ballistic? It’s outrageous, Man.

It is scientifically possible to analyse the Eucharist and determine that it is wine and bread. The REAL meaning here is metaphysical not physical and should have been obvious since earliest times.
It is precisely due to this belief that you should not participate. If someone does not believe what the Catholic Church teaches regarding the Eucharist, out of respect, that person should not receive it. The same goes for any Catholic who does not believe in the Church’s doctrine.
