ok i read the page, it said “early Christians” (whoever they might be) used to say the Psalms (certainly nothing wrong with that if done with thought and meditation) but was replaced by some passages from St. Luke.

I still see no biblical basis for saying it endlessly and mindlessly like some hypnotic trance.

I see a creepy worship of Mary elevating her above anything said in scripture as if she is “queen of heaven”. where might that be in the bible??

Seems like it centers on Mary and not Christ as if Mary has some supernatural power herself.

Still no example of ANYBODY saying it in the Bible, no Biblical basis for its existence whatever.

Mary is honored and revered as the Mother of our Lord. She is not a deity, nor is she worshipped.

Who was Solomon’s queen? Bethsabee, the mother of Solomon. Solomon sat upon the Davidic throne, viewed by Jews to be the throne of God.

**1Ki 2:19 Then Bethsabee came to king Solomon, to speak to him for Adonias: and the king arose to meet her, and bowed to her, and sat down upon his throne: and a throne was set for the king’s mother, and she sat on his right hand. **

Christ ‘inherited’ the Davidic throne and His kingdom shall have no end. Christ’s mother is our Queen, and is Queen of the Kingdom of Heaven, which is Christ’s Kingdom.

**Luk 1:32 He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father: and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.
Luk 1:33 And of his kingdom there shall be no end. **

There is a Biblical basis, which is more than the Biblical basis you provided against the belief.

I thank my God that Christ died for me that I would not have to grovel to wicked sinful men to be forgiven and gain entrance to Heaven. any religion that says I must, protestant or catholic is just out for power and wealth.

Yep. Thank God you’re not like other men. That’s in the Bible somewhere isn’t it? Something about a Pharisee and a tax collector.

I am gathering that the relationship between priest and parishioner is vastly different than my protestant experience. I bet its quite hard to put into words.

hugefeet probably not as much as you think.

There will be differences, A more formal approach in tradition with Israelite theology and customs. But you might not see most of them as some might think, but would rather learn certain significance of form. He may treat you much like a Pasture would. But because he is a priest, and it fall’s in close sync with what the Israelite priest did? He may give some pennace, In the tradition and he offers the patition for prayers and forgivenenss in the mass. The Weekly mass is held to commemorate the sacrifice for Atonement… He is a much better Priest because the blood of animal never really pleased the Lord.

 To truly better understand the RCC is to better understand the old covenant. And to understand that we have a better Highpriest. Not because we as people are more perfect but because certain things changed that pleased God. The early jewished converts readly fastioned or transformed the Israelite tradition in the context of fulfillment. 

I think it's because people didn't quit sinning for believing in Christ. Although you would surely think initially it had some positive and noticable changes in the convert.  Our traditions were fashioned and formed in a way that reflects something fullfiled and how. And most wasn't written down in the transformation because the Jewish convert knew how? That is why he converted to begin with. It's like saying they hit the ground running. No Need for a lot of training for most of them. Maybe doctrinal methods to explain particulars for those having problems during conversion.

Most the time it means the same things as the old but the means change to an end. For a life that would be more abundant in our knowledge and closeness to the proximity of the Lord.
